Beautiful! You don't look like a beginner (your projects that is!)  I too, taught myself from the SnB books.  My children love the alien scarf.  I'm trying to make one for one of my daughters in purples.
You've done a lot in a few months!! Supurb!

I love the colors.  The pattern did indeed come out very interesting.  I think I may now have to try one.  Did you use two skeins of yarn?

475  KNITTING / Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller / Re: Version of Kittyville Hat - My FIRST attempt at circular and dpn's!! on: March 06, 2005 05:51:46 PM
Greqat job!! I find circular needles are a lot easier than double point. If you can knit with double point circulars are a piece of cake!! I love to knit with circulars!!

People on the stitch n bitch Boston list were remarking on it also.  Love the scalloped edges.  Would like to see it closer up.
478  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Knitting suggestions on: March 03, 2005 07:01:56 PM
Hi! I learned to knit over the past few months.  I bought some books.  I found the book stitch n bitch helpful, also took some books out of the library.  The Sally Mellville series The Knitting Experience- The knit stitch  and the book the Purl stitch.  I also took a course through our community service and it was helpful to have the hands on.  I have also found that if there are any knitting groups that meet up in your area, they are a great wealth of information and most people more than willing to help you out. Trial and error have taught me the most!!
