Years ago I bought some lovely blue paper to make wedding invitations from. Well five years, one wedding and two kids later the paper was still rolled up in my craft corner. So I thought that this would be the perfect time to pull it out.

I started by splashing a bleach and water mixture on a test piece, just to see what would happen. Well it looked like lovely clouds. So I pulled out a full sheet and tried it again.

And of course it didn't look as nice as the test piece. So I did the next best thing and cut up the test piece. I then fraied the edges and glued it to the full sheet and got some lovely textured clouds.

So paper and scissors, check.

Next I did a little sketch of a bird in flight and went to work filling in the bird with stones.

Rocks, check.

To make the curly bits, I cut Popsicle sticks into strips, soaked them in water overnight to make them pliable and than wrapped them around various jars, cans, pens, Russian stacking dolls, anything really. After drying overnight I unwrapped my curly Popsicle sticks.

I had a cheap plastic mask that I covered with fun paper and placed my sticks. Oh I guess I painted them first. After everything was placed it was missing something so I pulled out the glitter and pom poms. The mask is edged with pipe cleaners and the stick holding it is Popsicle sticks as well.
