1  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Baby Shower Thank-You Cards on: October 31, 2011 06:56:03 AM
Hello everyone! I haven't posted in SOOOO long. Well I have a little guy on the way and my baby showers are quickly approaching. I spent my Saturday morning making about 35 of these little cuties:

I got the idea from Marthastewart.com who had a similar idea...BUT I'm out of ink and couldn't print the template for the diaper...so I made my own! So there Martha!

I traced this template onto 12x12 scrapbooking paper (2 templates for each 12x12), cut it out, folded it around a greeting card...and voila! The diapers are held together with the ribbon- no glue. Just 2 little slits punched in the front through all the layers.

So the recipient will slide the card out of the diaper and the message will be on the inside.
It was really super easy.....here's a pic of literally all the "tools" I needed to make these cards happen:

Hope you enjoy! Now I just need to make about 50 more!!
2  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Belated posting of SUPER EASY ornaments from Xmas 2010 on: January 22, 2011 05:51:00 AM
Greetings: Just wanted to share what I made this year to add to tops of present boxes and around bottles of B&B works soap:

I got all these ceramic ornaments at Michael's for about $1.20 a piece.
I bought StazOn ink- Brown, Azure, Red, and Forest Green (not cheap about $7.99 each- but I use them all the time now because StazOn is super!)
Various Christmas stamp sets from Stampin Up and Michael's.
Fun Ribbon...also cheap...and also from Michael's.

the whole lot:

An added bonus is that when you mess up (smudge the stamp), which I did COUNTLESS times-StazOn comes right off with nail polish remover. So awesome! It is virtually impossible to "ruin" an ornament because you can re-do it with a little re-mover!

I would have made more but Michael's ran out of ornaments! lame. maybe next year Smiley
Thanks for looking!
3  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Belated Christmas Card posting...PIC OBESE on: January 22, 2011 05:43:08 AM
Hey all! Well I was thinking this morning now that Christmas is LONG gone- it is now time to sit down and actually post them Smiley
I'll start with 3 little tags. I found blank white cards with little brown paper sacks at Michael's.

Some (boring-ish) To & From tags. (my first...)

A card: the patterned trees is a Stampin Up stamp. Love the paisley.

3 Christmas tree cards: I turned a fern leaf stamp on its end. Added glitter hole punchies and a star brad at the top:

(seee.... I told you this was pic obese?) if you are still reading this, you = awesome
hanging ornaments:

The next 2 pics are from an antique child's book I found at the Antique Mall. It was some bogus story about Santa forgetting it was Christmas and the woodland creatures had to save Christmas. The images were great color so I tore it apart and made 5 notecards.:

WHEW! You made it.
Thanks for looking!
4  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Valentine's Day puzzle pieces. on: January 22, 2011 05:06:54 AM
Howdy! Here are the first 3 of what might be my new favorite things EVER:

With some pretty paper, XOXO paper ribbon, a corner rounder, a 5/8ths square punch, some StazOn ink, a V-day stamp set from Michael's, my distresser kit, and my Stampin' Up watercolor pencils/blender...this is what happened to some puzzle pieces I had laying around:

They started as "I-spy" puzzle pieces that I found at Scrap-4-Art in Toledo, OH. They called to me.

I plan on making MANY more because they are super easy!

SUPER SHAMELESS PLUG: If you are anywhere near Toledo, OH- you should check out "Scrap4Art." It is a non-profit organization mainly geared towards teachers but anyone is welcome! Long story short- it is a building full of "(s)crap" such as fabric, paint chips, old books, odd n' ends-ANYTHING that they get donated. You can walk in and either pick a lunch sack or a full paper bag for a SMALL fee and fill it up to the brim! It is such an afternoon of FUN. It is kind of like Goodwill- sometimes you find many gems and sometimes you find nothing- but it is worth checking out. Thanks for reading my shameless plug. Smiley

5  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Why going to antique malls will change your life... on: March 22, 2010 05:23:24 AM
Hey all! thought I would share my latest creation:
About a month ago I went antiquing and this is what happened Smiley I've been working on it for several weeks. It's finally finished minus mounting it in a frame....

Here are some close-ups...hopefully not so blurry:

This is where it all started...I found it at an antique mall. It's an old game from 1930:

I cut up each piece and went to work with my crayola watercolors:

The game came with about 6 game boards...so I get to do this 5 more times! yay....
it also just occurred to me that this post might belong in the "reconstructed/repurposed" board...but- I'm an inchier, so this board is my home front...and they are so close to inchies...
6  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / It's been an inchie-tastic weekend! on: March 13, 2010 10:23:57 AM
So I went to a "crop" last night with one of my friends and while everyone else scrapbooked...I inchied!! Everyone in the store kept looking at me like I was the ugly duckling of scrapbooking- but I didn't care!! Smiley

I made this for my friend Liesl...it's a warm up for the Alphabet inchie swap Smiley

3 random cuties as a warm-up:

I bought a stack of antique pictures a while back at a flea market and I finally did something with them! Last night at the crop I happened to find a punch that was the same diameter as these acrylic raindrops I put on top of the babies,

I got this city scape at biglots:

and did this with it:

then I got these artsy fartsy stickers at Tuesday morning:

and this shimmery awesomeness from BigLots:

and mixed them together to make these:

ooo...bad photography on my part....
7  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Cards made on my snow days! on: February 17, 2010 08:55:29 AM
Here are some of the cards that I've made the last 2 days when I've been stuck inside because of the weather...i love me some snow days Smiley

Thank-you stamps... pretty straightforward...

I had a fun alphabet sheet and I stole these quotes from some scrapbook paper:
"If you can't make it better you can laugh at it" & " Joy is your birthright"

I cut these quotes from a collage and the burlap ribbon is from the dollar store (whoot!)

en francaissssss:

and I had a sticker of a martini- probably could have been more elaborate on the front but I was creatively drained..i made 3 little olives on a stick for the inside:

yay cards....
8  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / ABC Inchies on: February 13, 2010 07:18:21 AM
Here is the set of inchies I made my husband for Valentine's Day:

My inspiration was this rub on sheet of letters I bought at jo-anns... I had already used the T-H-A-N-K-S for a card...so I had to use magazine clippings for those letters Smiley

And the finished product: I mounted them on cardstock which I mounted onto the front of a junky frame. Then I foam mounted old scrabble tiles around the outside:

My hubby is a teacher so I thought it would be good desk art!

9  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Valentine's Day/Lady/Random Inchies! on: February 12, 2010 04:40:23 AM
Hey y'all! this is my first post on craftster..so- whoo!

This is actually my 3rd set of inchies...but I don't think I would have posted the first 2 sets (gave those to complimentary relatives)

I use watercolor paper as my backing....cheap crayola watercolors...and magazine clippings....and my beloved set of sharpies...and some stamping...

I run the edges over ink pads to give it a 'finished' look.

Thanks to 'phizzychick' and all other 'inchie' posts...this is where I discovered this addicting hobby Smiley

I am now going to attempt to put pictures in this post...if it works- yay for my lame computer skills actually pulling through  Tongue

close-ups: the purple and green designs are corners of stamps...I color them in with sharpies

my inchie inspiration box...lives in my living room and i just stuff magazine pages,cards..ads.

Let me know what you think Smiley
