4  Gris Grimly Miss Muffet Doll (image heavy) in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by MrsBlettel on: March 15, 2010 10:02:19 PM
so one of the first times when i met my now hubby, he showed me a Gris Grimly book and i fell in love, we now own almost all of his books and i have drawn some of his pics myself and felt the urge to make one outta felt myself! so here is my felt doll version of Gris Grimlys Miss Muffet!

this is a close up of her face, i love the little button on her dress, in the book it is just a plain white button, but i thought this was cuter!

this is a image from the book so you can see what she looks like Smiley

I tried to make her shoes has accurate as possible, i like how they turned out

Her skirt was not full enough so i had to add a little more fluff and added some tulle

Here is the story from the book...

Little Miss Muffet, a wicked child,
had manners that were crude and wild.
She would scream, curse, spit and swear,
she said things children wouldnt dare.

To other classmates, she would be cruel,
and so she made no friends at school.

Here you see why creatures feared
the girl when she would venture near.

When Ma and Pa could take no more,
they opend up the cellar door.
They tossed her down rhe stairs and then
they never let her out again
she ate naught but curds and whey
that was handed through a slot each day.
The spiders crawling through her hair
were all the friends she had down there
All alone she wept and cried
and stayed in the cellar til she died
- Gris Grimly "wicked nursery rhymes"

Hope you like! i had so much fun making her and plan to make more! Smiley

5  My Lil Cupcake in CHALLENGE 48 ENTRIES by MrsBlettel on: March 06, 2010 10:27:17 PM
I had planned on making these, and this challenge just helped jumpstart it. I made larger ones and posted them before, however when i started, it was very frustrating trying to make them in such a smaller size, and if not for my competitve side, i may have thrown in the towel on these. Sewing such small cupcakes took a level of patience i did not think i had! lol

so here they are:

So i have gotten really into making things with felt and hopefully soon i will be getting a sewing machine cause all I have been doing is by hand.

I made these cupcakes and they can either be magnets, pins or even hair clips. I think i may make more in different sizes, bigger and smaller.

I also made these pop tarts, i think they could be cute playfood
