1  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Rookie Mistake NEED HELP ASAP! I'm desperate! [getting chalk off fabric] on: April 06, 2011 08:03:51 PM
I am making this dress for prom, and had it almost finished, but the marking chalk won't come out! I realize this is my fault, as I didn't read the directions on the chalk and stupidly used a blue chalk on a light color fabric (it shows right through the other side!).

So now I'm stuck with what would be a pretty dress, but with big blue marks and numbers all over it!  I definitely need help on getting these marks off!

If it helps, the fabric is satin and the chalk is blue "project runway" chalk and some of the marks are blue "project runway" tracing paper.

please be kind.  i've learned my lesson and really don't have time to remake the whole dress, nor the money to buy more fabric, so if anyone knows how to get these horrid blue marks out, please, please help me... ;''(
2  CLOTHING / Shoes: Discussion and Questions / Never Made Shoes Before and Feeling a Bit Overwhelmed on: February 18, 2011 11:05:52 AM
So, this year I've decided to make my prom dress and accessories, and since I can't seem to find any shoes that I like, I thought to myself "Hey, why not try making the shoes too?"

I have no idea how to make shoes. I mean seriously: no. clue.

I've never made shoes before, so naturally I turned to craftster and began searching the completed shoes forum, but so far no luck on how to go about starting.

I want to just make some simple, light yellow flats and as durable as they can be for the materials I want to use (though since I've never made shoes I don't even know if I can use these materials!) I want to use a fabric similar to the shoes in the picture. Does anyone know of any shoemaking tutorials or something to help me get started? Any and all advice is welcome!!!!!
3  UNITED STATES / Kentucky / Young Crafters in Union/Webster/Henderson? on: April 05, 2010 07:36:53 PM
Just wondering if there were any fun-loving young (preferably high school age) craftsters who maybe wanted to get together and just chat/craft together over the summer. We could share ideas, offer tips, do something all together? Just thought I'd check...
