1  Boo House 2012 in Occasions and Holidays: Challenge Entries by Amanda_Knauff on: November 06, 2012 07:03:40 AM
I can not take credit. This is all my 4 year old's idea. He wanted to have a haunted house that would spook the passerby's. Our window has a deep window sill. He calls it his lookout.  He wanted a haunted window to peer out of and spook people. It also needed a floating ghost.

We used large construction paper, sissors, dental floss, glitter glue, white glue, and stickers. Together we drew and cut the pieces. Dean decorated, I made the door and lettering. The ghost face was drawn and cut by Dean. We hung the ghost on a hook with Dental Floss so it really looked like it was floating. We also added coloured lights to flash in the boo house windows.

The end result was pretty cool, althought I could not capture a decent picture at night. It looked like a silouette in the window and you could easily see the coloured lights shining through the haunted house.

2  Ice Angry Bird 2012 in CHALLENGE 80 ENTRIES by Amanda_Knauff on: November 01, 2012 06:32:12 PM
I pretty much begged my son to want a more popular or easier shape. He would not change his mind. My son has a lot of faith in me. I am glad, cause I love how it turned out. I mostly sewed this costume. With my time restrains I ended up hot gluing the beak and tails on. The cube was made with flexifirm, light blue felt, and sheer shiny fabric. There were two websites that helped inspire. First one gave me the idea it was possible http://www.twindragonflydesigns.com/2011/09/angry-birds-family-costume-tutorial.html?m=. Second one I was able to construct a shape with http://www.sewfun.com/2009/11/04/how-to-make-perfect-fabric-baby-blocks/
