1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Re: spoiled rotten brother on: November 18, 2007 01:26:22 PM
Wow, such good ideas!  I am going to give him that tic tack toe shot glass thing!  That's awesome.  Anyone know where to get plain shotglasses?  Last year I gave him a car wash kit.  He LOVES detailing his car.  And I wish I could put a quote on something for him, but literally he only owns designer clothing.  The only thing he wears that isn't designer is a shirt our mom gave him last year for christmas.  It's from Jackass beer or something and it says, "That's MR. Jackass to you!"  He has a Victorinox workout bag.
2  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / spoiled rotten brother on: November 14, 2007 05:29:15 PM
My spoiled younger brother is home for Christmas and I've got nothing.  I've got like no money and well for him money is no option.  There's some song lyric he's all about, "If it ain't Gucci it don't look good on me."  And he means it.

What's worse is his only hobbies are college boy hobbies, drinking and women!  He is into his car, working out, I thought maybe etched beer mugs, but I'm blanking on what to etch!  He likes to watch movie with his friend.  So I was thinking of a movie in a box sort of thing.  But I need another gift also because, Christmas day is also his birthday!

I can knit and figure just about anything else out.  I'm not a good machine sewer, sewing machines despise me.
3  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Re: Alice in wonderland wedding on: March 27, 2006 08:32:02 PM
There is a cool book called Taking Tea with Alice.  It's a childrens tea party how-to sort of.  Lots of ideas for food, including recipes, games, and favors, as well as decorations.
4  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / Re: grown-up kids party on: November 28, 2005 08:25:27 PM
OMG people responded while I wasn't paying attention!  So I guess it's a positive on the games.  Thanks to everyone for your input.  I was just thinking it would be funny if I did an over the hill party for them, because they will be forty collectively.  But I definitely like the kid party idea better.  I'd better go to the library.  We were born in the eighties, but started paying attention in the nineties.  I wish I had this and this.
5  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / grown-up kids party on: November 14, 2005 09:18:50 PM
My husband and one of out best friends birthdays are the 6th and 7th of December.  So I'm planning a birthday/holiday party.  I'm very excited and the semi-theme is classic american child.  We're having grilled cheese, tomato soup, hot dogs, mac and cheese, chex mix, chocolate chip cookies, those peanut butter cookies with the chocolate kiss in them and chocolate milk with crazy straws and kaluha.  I'm going to rent A Christmas Story.  But what else?  I don't want this to be a boring sitting around party, but I also really want it to be nostalgic.  Not like updated hipper versions of old favorites, but the actual thing.  I love to plan parties but I tend to over plan, so I need some feedback!  Should we play games?  There's going to be anywhere from 15 to 40 people there.  Any ideas welcome, thank you!

Oh I also forgot to mention that I was home schooled so I have like no idea what other kids were doing!  I know I was reciting the pledge of allegiance a lot.
6  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Sherlock Holmes Swap Gallery on: September 21, 2005 07:32:36 AM
I keep meaning to post here.  I got my package from Spicey Creations and it was awesome!

She sent me: a hat pin
a very pretty necklace
wedding wine charms
and an awesome red goddess book mark

I am having my vows renewed and having a huge party in 3 days and can barely remember to wash my hair in the shower.  So Spicey if you have pics feel free to post them, or just wait.  Because I will get around to it.
7  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Re: Love your wedding? Then show off your photos here! on: September 19, 2005 08:08:54 AM
Everyones pictures are so beautiful!  I am in love with the off beat colors.  I just went to a huge wedding last weekend.  The bridesmaids all wore purple, I'm not sure what the name of that shade of it is though.  They didn't match everything, which I thought was great.  Each centerpiece was different, tableclothes were not purple and the church was robins egg blue!  I love color, a wedding should be colorful and happy!
8  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / making it fun for the kids on: August 25, 2005 10:11:58 AM
For my sept. shindig, I've invited children.  Fourteen are coming, or eight are definitely coming, fourteen are probably coming.  Anyway, does anyone have any tips on making it fun for them, and their parents at the same time?   Im talking all under 10-years of age.  Im planning on hiring two teen girls to lead games/look after them.  And I was thinking $ store/OTC goodie bags would be good.  Anything else?  Any ideas welcome!

10  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Amelie swap? on: August 16, 2005 09:09:56 AM
I'd love to do an amelie swap!  That would rock.  It would be my first Craftster swap, is it happening though?  I'm reading this thread and I'm confused!
