1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Who's an 80's Pirate? I guess I am...plus a UK punk and a Happy Buddha :) on: May 07, 2011 03:05:03 PM
I've done a few recon's over the past week and I'm super happy how they turned out! Hope I keep it up lol.

This is a "T" shirt, its just fabric cut in the shape of the letter T and stitched up the sides and on top to make the sleeves. I made a sequined belt to give it more shape. I was wearing it when my friend said I looked like an 80's pirate - so I went with it lol...

This was a large shirt I thrifted and then made more fitted. I gave it a scoop neck that goes a lil off the shoulder. Gave it new sleeves, added some star studs and spraypaint. Smiley

Last is the one I made today. I found this awesome Happy Rocker Buddha shirt at the thrift store and turned it into a cami tank. The leopard for the top half is another thrift store find.

Thanks for looking!!
2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Hey Ho - Let's Go! on: May 07, 2011 02:50:25 PM
My boyfriend gave my his old Ramones CD to make something with, so I made a purse. I love that the CD is pink and black and matched perfectly with some new fabric I bought. I made a lil mini duffel bag style purse and attached the cds to the ends. It closes with velcro, because I have bad luck with zippers lol. I added boning to the handle so that it holds its shape. I cant wait to take it out for a test run and see how it does! Smiley

3  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Glitter Rainbow Kawaii Bowling Pin of Cuteness! on: March 28, 2011 03:36:37 PM
So I entered an Art show that our local Tattoo shop does a few times a year, this time around the item was bowling pins. I went back and forth on what I was going to do, and since I got my pin at the last minute I didnt have many options. So I went with a uber cute Kawaii themed pin. I'm really happy with how it turned out and had a lot of fun seeing all the other pins. Smiley

Thanks for looking! <3
4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Chiodos!...wait..who? on: January 26, 2011 03:20:20 PM
So yeah, got this shirt at a thrift store a while back but just not recon'd it. I didnt know it was a real band, just thought the picture was awesome. I added an asymetricial bottom to it and added the pink/grey as a band on sleeves and bottom. I'm trying to build up my etsy stock so glad this turned out as well as it did Smiley

Thanks for looking!!

6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Sweaters are better with hoods and ears on: October 08, 2010 12:25:06 PM
I've had this sweater for a lil while now, and I loved it. The thing was, after wearing and washing it a time or two, the neckline stretched out all funny and I stopped wearing it. Then with the onset of my clothing line I'm working on, I got inspired to fix it. I added a red hood, with teddy ears on it. Then crocheted a chain to thread through the hood and then lace up the front neckline to help make it fit better. Then of course I had to add some studs for that punk style I oh so love Wink
thanks!!!

10  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Today was a crafty good day - shirt recons! on: May 21, 2010 01:09:57 PM
yay! I made a bunch of shirt recon's today and for once I had no melt downs, wrong stitches, cursing or bad fits or ideas - a first for me! So anyways, I am tired of flipping through my closet and skipping over the same things everytime. I made a pile of all the clothes I never wear and I'm pulling out one at a time and fixing the reason I dont wear it. These are the 4 four I did today - I made one more but it involved bleach and  had to be washed so I'll post it later.

Here's the first one:

Its a halter top, with a zipper as the front. It goes up to the neck then I stiched on stripes to the zipper ends so I could get a nice flat knot at the top. It's a fully working zipper so I can adjust depending on if I'm a prude or frisky haha. The iron on's are some I made up a while back with MS paint Smiley

#2 is an ugly thrift store sweater I got cause I liked the stripes. I flipped it upside down, made it into a boobtube and added the string halter tie at the top.

#3 is probably my fav. The good thing about having a BF in a band, is I get free shirts from all the other bands they play with, and of course I get large so I can recon! I resized this one to fit, then added the ruffle bottom and a green zebra print bow on the bottom. I attached it with a metal stud for a little punk touch.

and...#4 is my first cami that is actually wareable. It started as a large men's Dr Pepper shirt. I resized it to fit, then used leopard print fabric to make the contrast bust and added stretch lace around the top and bottom of the shirt and for the straps. I love it and its very comphy for summer! Smiley
