1  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Crochet Charizard, Noctowl, and Toad on: May 25, 2012 09:21:44 AM
Hey everyone!

I haven't posted in a while, and I decided to put up some pictures of some recent projects I've been working on.

I'm sorry for the terrible pictures, I really need to carry around a camera everywhere with me or something. Or at least get a phone with better quality camera.   Grin

And he's technically not a Pokemon, but Toad needs some love too!

Thanks for looking!
2  CLOTHING / Costumes: Completed Projects / Cardcaptor Sakura on: May 25, 2012 08:56:34 AM

So last year I took my younger cousin to an anime convention for the first time. Because it was her first time, I decided to let her cosplay just for the fun of it. I decided Sakura from Cardcaptor Sakura was a good choice and I made the costume while she watched the series. It was a lot of work but she had a blast so it was totally worth it!

Posing with the wand that we made her.

Eating in the food court after a few hours of con-ing.

Everything was made from scratch except for the shoes, haha.

She's normally incredibly shy and quiet, so she gets overlooked a lot. But at the con people kept asking to take pictures with her and she loved the attention!  Cheesy

Thanks for looking!
3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / T-shirts for my brother on: January 12, 2011 06:29:50 PM
So for Christmas last year I decided to make a present for my brother.

He likes music from Deadmau5, so I decided to take the picture from one of the albums to make his shirt. I used glow in the dark fabric paint and some iron-on t-shirt stuff.

He loves it, especially at night when the mouse head glows in the dark. Cheesy

A few days later he asked me to make a t-shirt for him with the iron on transfer paper. His school was having a "positive word" day, and he wanted the word courage. Can you guess where I got my inspiration from?  Wink

Sorry for the gross pictures, I took them with my phone really quick before bursting into my brother's room in excitement!

Thanks for looking! =)
4  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Poke-splosion!! (IMG heavy) on: January 12, 2011 06:15:20 PM
Recently, I got my little cousin into Pokemon and we started watching it together from the first season. She ended up loving the show and asked me for a Charmander (her favorite Pokemon) for her birthday. I honestly didn't want to order one off ebay, so I googled a crochet version and found this wonderful pattern by WolfDreamer:

After a little tweaking, this is what I came up with.

And then after that came one for another cousin...

Then came a request from a friend...

Then came a present for a friend...

(ignore that little charmander, I made him cause I missed the bigger one haha)

So what started as a little gift for my cousin ended up with a new hobby for me!

Sorry for some of the fuzzy pictures, I only had a few seconds to snap a photo before I finally gave them to their new happy owners.

Thanks for looking! =)
5  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / Baby Blankets on: July 18, 2010 09:57:45 PM
So my cousin is super pregnant with twins, a boy and a girl. She had her baby shower recently, and before the baby shower me and my other cousin decided to make baby blankets for gifts.

After wandering around the fabric store for a bit, piling all the different fabrics we thought were cute, we found these pre-made panel things that were the perfect size for baby blankets! They were really cute, and my cousin and I were sold on them so we bought them and some yellow-ish quilt backing. We sewed them together, sewed a border, and did little tie downs with yellow embroidery thread. All in all, we loved the way they turned out and the parents loved them. So without further ado, here they are:

Girl's blanket (Farm themed)

Boy's blanket (Jungle themed)

Sorry for the not so great pictures, my cousin took them really quick with her phone before we wrapped them. Thanks for looking!
6  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Bead Crochet Bracelets! on: February 01, 2010 03:07:06 PM
So I've always admired the crafts on Craftster.org, and I decided that I would start start posting stuff too!

My favorite craft is crocheting bead ropes. The story behind it comes from a bead crochet bracelet that my grandmother gave me. It's been with me for quite some time now, bordering on a decade almost. And in that almost decade I've lost it, almost broke it into a million pieces, and found it in the most random places. I'm very attached to it, and so I decided to learn how to make them. Sappy story, I know, but isn't that how all Craftsters begin?

Anyways, here are a few of my favorite ones that I made when I had too much time on my hands:

A green and black criss-cross one

A blue criss-cross one

A black and red criss-cross one

A green and silver criss-cross one

Yes I know it's a lot of criss-crossing, but I really like the way the pattern looks. Thanks for looking! =]
