1  Boxy Blanket in CHALLENGE 7 ENTRIES by Carly Caron on: November 07, 2005 08:12:16 AM
I think I must have used 15 pairs of jeans for mine! All I used was jeans and thread! Grin I love my new blanket and I can use it for so many different things! It's great for a picnic too! And I'm thinking about making curtains to match cause I love it so much!

My project is pretty self explanatory - I just cut a ton of squares and then sewed them together and ironed in between so the seams in the back would be neat and flat because there is no backing or anything.. just bare edges so the ends fray! I love it!!

I hope you like!! I took the one with my hand in the picture so you could get an idea of how big the squares are. And I wanted to show off my wicked cool admission bracelet for the Dance Olympus convention yesterday in Boston!  Cool I am such a nerd. I was just looking at all the projects everyone has entered so far and there isnt a single one I don't like! We are all so very talented! It's extreme!

Peace  Kiss

2  Flower Seeds and Packet Swap in New Swap Theme Ideas by Carly Caron on: August 24, 2005 11:53:29 AM
I love to garden and I know there must be some craftsters on here that do too! So who wants to organize a swap where each person harvests some seeds from a garden, whether it be your own or your mother's or your friend's garden (just make sure to get permission first!) and dry them out?  Or if you dont know anyone with a garden you can borrow seeds for you could always buy some from the store. Then you can make your very own seed packet using this template:

It is an easy think to ship in the mail, and inexpensive too. What do you think?  Smiley

3  Re: Please help me figure out this knitting pattern! in Knitting: Discussion and Questions by Carly Caron on: August 08, 2005 10:56:38 AM
Here are some pics of my progress (Am I doing it right?):

I'm on about row 15 from the beginning of the part that Bethann started to help me with, and I'm looking at my work and wondering how it's going to work into shorts, am I doing it the right way?  Roll Eyes The part at the end where it curls up is where it's decreased... does that look right to you? Let me know what you think, Bethann! Thanks so much for helping me.   Cheesy

5  I want to make this flat tote... in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions by Carly Caron on: June 24, 2005 05:09:14 AM
Hey guys! I found this tote at oldnavy.com and I'd really like to make it! What would you suggest for fabric? It looks like it should be simple to make, but I don't know where to start!

6  Quick sewing question for pj shorts...HELP!!! in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by Carly Caron on: June 12, 2005 10:40:21 AM
I am in the middle of making some pj shorts right now and I'm definately stuck. I made some pj pants last year and I just cut off most of the leg part of the pattern to make shorts..... anyway I cut out the four pieces, 2 fronts, 2 backs. Then I sewed the inner leg seams like it said to, front to back. Then I sewed the crotch with right sides facing together like the pattern said to but now that I look at it it looks very distorted:

It looks like the waist is going to be very wide and the legs look small, did I do something wrong? I'm so confused and I dont remember how I made the pj pants last year!! HELP ME PLEASE!!!

7  Re: I'm making my sister a dress....THE FINISHED PRODUCT!!! in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by Carly Caron on: June 08, 2005 06:25:18 AM
Okay, so I have been working on this dress for over a month and I think I have finally finished!!!  (Well.... almost!!)

I have a couple questions though...

I sewed the neck facing and "armpit" facing the way the pattern suggested, but it kinda looks unfinished:
