1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / How to Knit Doubled Heeled Socks???? on: August 01, 2009 11:15:43 AM
Hi there, I have a family friend who is trying to find a pattern or someone who knows what shes talking about. She had a pattern at one point for theses socks and has since lost it and the older lady who gave her the pattern she is no longer in contact with. If anyone has a pattern or know where there is one for "DOUBLED HEELED KNIT SOCKS" It would be greatly appericated. Thanks!

Hi all, thought you crafty creative  people might be able to help me with this one because  this is about the only craft i cant do is knit and crochet. I'm starting to work on all my christmas presents early this year, and this ones for my mother. I had the idea of doing sort of a knitters bag, stuffed with knitting supplies, but what do knitters need?? I know needles, books, yarn but whatelse? any ideas are welcome, am a avid beader, painter, pottery, ceramics and so but I have no clue other then general supplies. Whats the most common sizes knitting needles  you used and could always use more of? what sort of extras are always welcomed when knitting am not sure on this stuff? Huh so far I have the following for the bag, just started working on it today.

The bag am using

3 books
- one on sweaters
- one on pot holders and kitchen stuff
- one on blankets

plastic seam needles

a stich holder

plastic round markers?
6  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Wilderness Food on: August 30, 2005 08:31:22 PM
I thought this might make an interesting topic. I was wondering if their is any other people around here that live with hunters and fishermen that I guess you could say eat natural grown goodies from the bush and so on? I guess what I mean is there any people who like game meat ( IE deer, bear, moose, goose, local fishes) ? or different local wild veggies and fruits ( different berries, fiddle heads, puff ball, morels other healthy wild mushrooms)?

I myself live at home still with my parents and my Dad is both a fisher and hunter and have tried most myself. Some I like some I cant stand.  I am local of rural southern Ontario as well I know this will vary from area to area. But here are my answers questions are more than welcome to if people are wondering what something is maybe someone here can help. Never saw something like this posted before so I thought I'd give it a go.

I like moose and basically any local fish that we have caught, carp, muddle doodlers, perch, pickerel, walleye, trout. I hate deer and goose. I also like buffalo but its not really wild my aunt raises them on a farm. I eat basically all the local hunters specials in the fruit and veggie dept. I love Black Cap Berries, Saskatoon Berries, Fiddle Heads, Puff Ball.

9  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Charm and Chain Bracelet UPDATED Finished Now on: April 16, 2005 07:21:14 PM
Hey everyone, I havent had a chance to much crafting lately, but tonight I broke out my supplies again and made this. I saw something similar to it in one of the newer beading magazines but I didnt follow how they said to do, its totally my own design that way. Its just a bracelet that i made with a dark blue/green large seed bead, jumprings and blue and black glass beads and silver wire.

I've decided that this project wasnt quite done. I didnt like how it looked before so I added a bunch more wired wrapped beads to it. Heres what it looks like now.
