151  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Wedding Invites on: January 24, 2005 08:07:40 PM
I looked around for wedding invitations, but couldn't find anything that really *felt* right.  So, being the crafty woman that I am, I decided to make them!  It ended up being a very gratifying project, not to mention inexpensive.  The bottom panel of the invite is a removable RSVP card, complete with a SASE!

The coolest part?  My mother-in-law liked them so much that she had hers framed and gave it to my husband and me as a gift!   Cheesy

There's a group of senior citizens in my town who collect used greeting cards (yeah recycling!) and then make bookmarkers out of them.  They pass the finished products out for free, like at the library, at the schools, etc.  It's a pretty awesome program!  But, if you don't have tons of people to give bookmarkers to, you could try re-using your used greeting cards by making new paper out of them!  If you're interested, check out this link:

Dahlia, what are you using to apply the paint to the card?

Do you have a link to the butterfly diagram?  Sounds like the makings for a pretty swanky necklace...

So, I've been cruising this site and the web at large for ideas and tutorials on jewelry made out of origami shapes.  And I have found this very weird, but very cool tutorial on how to make an Origami Book Necklace.  What is an origami book necklace, you ask?  Well, here's the link:

It's cool, but wacky!  So, my question is does anyone out there know of any origami jewelry projects, or what have you...?  Or any ideas for such a project...?

Thanks!
