What amazes me is how simplethey are, yet chock full o' personality! The Caricature is great. There was a great sense of capturing his essence with the piece.

Your coloring and texture looks great. It has a nice gritty feel to it.

So here's my idea. You design clothes and your designer label can be "Hodgepodge". It would be awesome! You have a great eye with a blend of nouveau hippie and light grunge. I think the lace and trim work sets it apart. Wonderful dress with a fun feel.
7  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / Re: need hair help on: March 05, 2010 06:39:47 AM
WOW. This happened to be my exact question also. I have also heard of cutting the yarn just over double the length of the hair, then, taking a bunch of about 10 strands, twist it to tie a knot in the middle. Then sew the knots inside while closing the doll. when it turns back out the hair should all hang out then. Does that make sense? I may have described it wrong. I am making the whole doll from scratch so is this way to do it? For a novice? This is the one part that I am hazy with.

He looks so sweet! I don't know how you guys can crochet this stuff. It looks impossible to do. But you have done just an amazing job.

The lightness of the wings and draping of the dress is amazing. I love the flowers on the wings. It creates so much more layering and depth to the piece. And yes, Ellie is a complete knock out.
