12  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Pattern/advice for making a g-string? on: July 29, 2011 01:52:49 AM
Hi everyone,

I've been looking online for a pattern for a g-string and am not having much luck...I wondered if anyone here could help me?

I was going to put up a picture, but then I thought that maybe it wouldn't be suitable for Craftster, so here is a link to the kind of underwear that I want to try and make http://www.lolaluna-uk.com/type/24/closed-mini-g-string/page-1.htm
I think its so pretty, but its quite expensive and I figured that I could try and make something similar myself (maybe!)

Has anyone ever made something similar, or have any advice on what kind of elastic would be the most comfortable to wear? If anyone knew of a pattern too then that would be great!

Thank you ladies xx

Thank you everyone!

Hehe these are so groovy! What is willows hair made out of, and how did you make the limbs so thin?

Willow's hair is made out of two different kinds of wool - I thought that they looked quite hippy-ish when I put them together! The limbs are just made out of cotton which I drew the leg shape onto and then sewed, turned and stuffed. I do need my trusty hemostats to help me turn and stuff though...I'd be lost without them! Cheesy xx

Hi everyone,

I recently made two hippies as I found a couple of psychedelic-looking fat-quarters that I thought would make groovy outfits (I am soooo addicted to fat quarters that its not even funny!!) I'm not so used to using bright and bold colours, but I really like the way that they turned out, so I thought I would share them with you. The blonde one is called Willow Warmtears and the brunette is Astrid Fields!

Hi everyone,

I know that ghost dolls have been quite popular here lately, and so I thought I would show you my latest two. One was ordered by a local gift shop, and the other I entered into a competition in a craft community that I am part of called The Hive (http://creatingthehive.com/) I don't think that she'll win as there are some AMAZING artists there, but its always worth a try! Anyway, here are my two latest little spirits....

Awww, he's lovely! I just recently got a book called 'Steampunk Softies' and he reminds me of the little dolls in there...you'll have to take a look at it if you're into the Steampunk look.
You've done a fantastic job once again - I always love reading your posts and seeing your pics! xx

Thank you so so much ladies, I really appreciate all of your lovely comments.

You should do a tut. on how you paint doll faces cuz your dolls always turn out soooooooooooo amazing!!!!!!

I've often thought about making up a little tutorial on how I paint/draw the eyes as I often get asked about them. I'll maybe try to take some photos along the way, the next time I make a doll (which will probably be very soon!!) xx
