Aww, thank you so much Super-crayola! Sometimes I go through phases of getting fed-up with what I'm doing, but then I get some new ideas and I feel all full of enthusiasm again!!

Hi everyone,

I made up a couple of mini-stump dolls last week with some spangly scarves that I bought. I do love playing with sparkly fabrics!


I also just finished these two girls today. I was meaning to slow down a bit with my dolls and maybe try something new, but I got my hands on some stripey fat quarters and couldn't resist making stripey tights!!

She's beautiful! I hope that maybe someday you'll be inspired to create a kid-friendly doll. I'd love to have one for my future daughter.

I've done a few child-friendly dolls for special orders in the past. I embroider their faces on so that they don't get chewed or rubbed off! It does take a bit longer but they always come out very nicely (I think!) xx

I've made a couple of dolls with similar skirts and I must admit that I do it the easy way and just sew the lace on to the outside once the doll's body is already assembled. I just pin it where I want it to go, and then I use a nice neat backstitch (in the same colour thread so that it isn't too visible).

I've never made a male doll, but if I did, I would try to make the jaw more square, and give him big masculine eyebrows and maybe a moustache or beard or some stubble! Maybe you could look for male dolls on Google images and see what other people have made and how they do it xx
