1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / Mushy Fake bubble gum machine Valentine on: February 14, 2005 08:38:46 PM
Made this for my dh loosley based on one I saw at splitcoaststampers.com
It's made from a plastic flower pot turned upside down, using the tray for the top and the glass globe is one of those 77 cent globes in the floral dept.  I just covered it with stickers and used glue to stick confetti hearts on it.  Used one of those rub ons for the heart on the glass and filled it with candy before I gave it to him.

2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Another shaving cream purse with matching billfold on: February 10, 2005 09:02:35 PM
I had to try one more purse using the shaving cream and food coloring to dye the material using the general idea from candycanechild at http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=9922.0 and also used the wonderful tutorial from hdoglovesyou at http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=20925.0 to make a matching billfold.  Also used the tutorial for the flower at http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=24944.0 by beastbunny.  Thanks to each of you for being so wonderful and posting these.

3  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Shaving cream purse on: February 09, 2005 01:35:58 PM
I decided to see if I could use the shaving cream/food coloring technique from candycanechild at http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=9922.0 on material for a purse and here are the results.  The lining material actually matches a little better than it shows in the pictures.  I used an off white canvas material to marble for the purse and strap and cotton for the lining.

4  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / New purse and mittens from an old sweater on: February 03, 2005 02:08:05 PM
Since this is my first ever post,  I want to say how inspiring and creative everyone seems to be!  I love all the ideas and wish that I would have had this type of encouragement and inspiration when I was younger.  Now, although I have been totally chicken to show anything that I make, here is my first attempt at a purse from a wool sweater (thanks to all the people that explained fulling and felting).  Since the manufactured sweater was cut and sewn up the sides, I couldn't just unravel to reuse the yarn so I felted it first and then cut out the shapes and went from there.  The handle on the purse is the ribbed collar of the sweater and the the ribbing around the hex closer is the bottom of the sweater.  The mittens were cut from the sleeves with the ribbed cuffs of the sweater making the cuff for the mittens.  I hope the pictures work.
