1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Wine charm bracelet on: May 02, 2011 05:18:38 AM
There has been a set of wine charms sitting in our garage sale pile for over a year now...you know, those little rings that you're supposed to put on a wine glass?  It finally occurred to me that I could ransack it for a charm bracelet!  My favorites are the wedge of cheese and the bunch of grapes.  Everything else I already had in my stash.

Thanks for looking Smiley
2  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Made a Munu! on: May 01, 2011 12:26:12 PM
Due to severe procrastination tendencies, I was stuck two hours before my friend's kid's 2nd birthday party without a present.  I rummaged around my stash and found a sheet of red felt and some fiberfill.  "AH HA!" I exclaimed.  I remembered his mom telling me how hard it was to find Yo Gabba Gabba toys, and I knew that one of the characters was red.  Thank goodness for Google images.  I whipped this up and it was an instant hit.  Gratification point #1 was when dad said, "You made this?"  Gratification point #2 was when the little boy grabbed it ran around showing everyone and doing a little dance.  I'm sure it's totally demolished by now, but it turned out better than anything I could have bought!

3  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / First attempt at applique! on: March 27, 2011 12:48:55 PM
So two of my close friends are popping out babies on almost the exact same day...which is super exciting, but which also means I need to double the baby presents I just got a sewing machine about a month ago and am slowly learning how to use it.  I saw a onesies thread on here that totally inspired me, and these were really fun to conceptualize.  Thank you Craftster muses!  Smiley

4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Husband's Stolen Henley turned into Skirt + Bunny on: February 26, 2011 08:37:32 AM
Okay, this is my very first post of a completed project.  I got a sewing machine for my birthday and am running all over the house repurposing fabric because I'm too scared to try anything on purchased fabric yet, lol!  I'm still intimidated when I walk into a fabric store, so I figure I'll snipe stuff out of my husband's closet for now.  Hopefully, by the time he notices, I'll be good enough on the sewing machine to replace what I've taken.

So this is what happened to a stolen gray henley.  The arms became a rice-filled bunny rabbit, the body became a skirt.  I'm not going to show you the waistband because it is just a mess.  My only hope is that it doesn't fall off at work.  But, I still love the flowers Smiley

5  COOKING / Dessert / Gum Paste Roses on: January 21, 2011 12:34:25 PM
Hi everyone, I'm a n00b here but have been lurking around for several months Smiley  I'm not that great of a baker, but I love decorating cakes and have just started playing around with gum paste.  It takes some time, and I usually have to get up early Sunday morning in order to have a few quiet hours before the rest of the house starts waking up, but I love the process.  So meditative!  Here's a picture of one of my first roses.  It hardens up pretty good, so I'm thinking of ways to use it in some of my other crafty goodness.

Here's a link to the picture, I'd love to see what others have done!
