1  COOKING / Dessert / Rainbow frosted cupcakes! on: June 07, 2010 02:15:19 PM
Hi all!  I'm a big fan of cupcake making, and I made a batch recently which I thought were rather pretty.  They're just basic vanilla sponge with buttercream frosting, and I used paste colours (since I find them easier to work with) for the different hues.  I'm feeling quite proud

What do you think?

2  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / A shedload of ringpulls/pop tabs? on: May 31, 2010 10:39:51 AM
I'm a big fan of making bracelets etc out of ringpulls/pop tabs and have virtually everybody I know saving them for me.  However, my method of making the bracelet only allows usage of one specific type of ring pull as out of all the types, they connect the best.

Which poses a problem.  I'm left with all the 'rejects'.  All those that are the wrong shape, size or colour to be made into a bracelet.  I kept them because I figured there had to be something good I could use them for.  I have a lot of rejects.  When I say a lot, I mean A LOT:

I'm a bad judge of numbers, but there's at least 500 there.  Maybe over 1000.  And I have no idea what to do with them.

I don't necessarily have to make them into something, I just need a solution for storing them in a way that's funtional and looks good.

Any suggestions?  Can be practical or creative, I'm open to anything!
Thanks,
~Sophie
