11  Re: Yarnies Scavenger Hunt Round 5 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by CleanFeelin on: April 25, 2011 06:47:46 PM
I received Saturday from our lovely organizer Kayrun and boy am I in yarn heaven!  Here are the goods:

The Letter M = "Midnight Blue": Some great yarn from Knit Picks in Hycinthia

Green = yarn or could even be for the needles too!  Can't wait to try this yarn out!

Local = Bag from LYS sorry for the bad lighting, but great bag for my WIPs

Funny = Mustache Crayons and Toast Earrings

Dotted = Glue Dots.  Ugh I can always use these.  I am obsessed with them when I do scrapbooking.

Recycled = Dryer Pillow Sheets made from upcycled t-shirts

Sender's Choice = 4 balls of cashmere yarn and ergonomic crochet hooks

Hard = Light weight, Lacy, & Long Scarf.  This was my fave item that Kayrun sent, she said it gave her some difficulty so she decided to put it in the hard category.  These pictures don't do it justice.  First a shot of me wearing it, second is a closeup of the lacy pattern.

Extras = cotton dish towel, french vanilla coffee, and some sweet & spicy tea to try!

Thank you so much for organizing this fun swap Kayrun and sending me such awesome gifts I really appreciate them all!

I received from my angel mama24boys!

I LOVE what I got.

She sent me this great light weight scarf for the spring when it finally warms up around here

I am OH SO THANKFUL that you sent me this.  I have been looking for one of these for ages and I finally got one, a 1in square punch.

And the two together.

Thank you so much for angeling.  I will admit it was a lil sucky being flaked on for your birthday.

I am so sorry it has taken me forever to post, A2JC4life.  But here are the goods, I tried some different lighting, aka I wanted to take pictures in natural lighting before the sun set and I think it's pretty cool.

With out further ado here are the goods:

I got this great wallet in my fav color scheme

Here is another shot with it open

I also got this great runner for my dresser, as you may be able to see it goes with the color scheme in my bedroom amazingly.

I also got some great recipes too that I will def need to try.

Thank you so much A2JC4life.

PS Robinpich I can't believe how well the wall art matches your decor.  Also fyi the glass for the frame is still in there, just in case it happens to break if it falls.

14  Re: Sweet and Easy Valentine's Day Swap Round 2 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by CleanFeelin on: February 09, 2011 06:41:24 AM
Why do swap packages usually come on what seems like the worst day ever?  Not just for me but for a lot of people, I was sooo happy to see a package waiting for me on Friday.  I will give you the short version and basically I was headed to see friends at a Winter Festival and the tire rod on my car broke and I had to wait over 3 hours for a tow truck.  What sucks is I was on a main road and was blocking a lane of traffice, two cops showed up and one tried to speed up the process but that didn't help at all.  Lastly, when we finally got the car to the garage the tow truck driver didnt have my key it fell off so we had to go back to the site where my car broke down and find the key, which we did.  Good thing my boyfriend was there to keep me company and drive me home after this ordeal.  Now I need to make him the most awesome valentines day gift ever!

Even though I got it on Friday I was going to wait until Valentine's Day to open it, but that didn't last long, so here are the good from Glink!

This great headband I cannot wait to wear this weekend

These great cards that I will use to write my sister and a box of chocolates

Now this saves my life.  She made me this looong roll for my crochet hooks (and my rando knitting needles) in what just so happens to be my favorite color - RED!

Here is a close up of the back side, red corduroy with sequins.  I love this, now I am wayy more organized!

This is what I received from KaoticKrafter.  She jammed packed the box with a crazy amount of stuff and most of it is recylced, so I can't wait to recycle it again into something new.

17  Headband Swap Round 2? in New Swap Theme Ideas by CleanFeelin on: January 19, 2011 07:52:11 PM

Hey Everyone,

Just wondering if you guys would be down for a second round of the headband swap.  I organized it last time and it seemed everyone had a great time swapping and making the headbands.

I had some interest about including facinators in the swap.  Which seems pretty cool because they are very popular right now.

So here is what I was thinking for the swap:

Group A would be made up of people who just wanted to do 1 headbands OR 1 facinator.
Put into groups of four and everyone would have to make 3 headbands or facinators, depending on their partners preference.

Group B would be make up of people who would make a headband AND a facinator.
Put into groups of four and everyone would have to make 3 headbands AND 3 facinators or whatever their partners preference was.

In terms of timing I was thinking of doing this in the beginning of March, I would also need a co-organizer for this because last time it was a big swap and needed someone else.

Let me know what you guys think.  Thanks.

And you spoiled me Mizz Kodak with your lovely handmade goods.

I couldn't get a good shot of the scarf on, but its suppose to go around the front, it was inspired from my wist, just like the headband was.

Here is an action shot of me wearing it.  I L-O-V-E it.  It is exactly what I wanted and was hoping for and it fits my huge head perfectly.

Thank you so much Mizz Kodak!

1. Hat for my brother - done
2. Hat for my future SIL - done
3. Cowl for my bf's mom - 85% done
4. Cowl for my bf's sis - 15% done
5. Hat for my sis - 30% done
6. Hat for my mom - 30% done
7. Scarf for my dad

8. Cookies for my coworkers - done
9. Cookies of bf's family
10. Desserts for Christmas dinner

I finished the cookies for my coworkers, the spread includes red velvet cookies (some covered in white chocolate dizzle), peanut butter kiss cookies, jelly tea biscuts, and french vanilla jello cookies with white chocolate chips.  I had some issues with these cookies because I made them ahead of time.  The "Jelly Tea biscuts" were suppose to be thumbprint cookies but were came out harder than usual, but were still good.  The red velvet cookies were almost tossed because the dough was like a rock but after it sat out for a while and my mom having the patience to try and bake it came out pretty well.  This dough started out on the wrong foot to begin with, there was suppose to be chocolate chips in it but I forgot and I already cleaned up and put things away when I remembered.  Oh well, they came out devine anyways.

So 3 out of 10 ain't so bad.  I am leaving work early today for a Dr.'s appt so I will have more time to crochet and I have Thursday and Friday off from work so I should be good in getting things done, the bf's mom and sis's cowl don't need to get done til the 26th, but I have done enough procrstination already.  Wink
