3  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Discussion and Questions / Princess Corset on: February 08, 2013 03:52:04 PM
I been trying to find a free corset top pattern to pair with a tutu for my daughters.   Or a tutorial on how to make a faux corset look.  I found a few to purchase, but I was looking for more of a general description to try out before I buy one.
Thanks

5  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Initials on pre shirred fabric on: March 09, 2012 06:44:07 PM
Hi, I've shirred fabric before, but for quick quits for kids I picked up some ore shirred fabric to embellish.

I was wondering if you can sew a name or large initial on the shirred part and how to do it?

I just got a embroidery / sewing machine but I've not even attempted to learn the embroidery yet....

Thank you

Maryann
6  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / Question on: May 25, 2010 07:45:39 AM
Hi I never posted in the quilting section before.
I have posted in a few of the others. So hi and thanks in advance~ Smiley xoxox

can i 1st say wow some serious cool quilters here.

I have a questions I am making the baby quilt that was on sewing with Nancy the other day.  I have the top and I am about to pin baste it.

My question is when i quilt it so I do it with the top facing up or the backing?

I bought a darning foot and going to try a random pattern.  wish me luck.

2nd Q  if i decided not to do free motion and I want to stitch in the ditch instead, do I still need the darning foot?  Do i turn off the feed dog either way?

thank you so much, You rock just for reading

7  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / my 1st clothing post on: May 14, 2010 12:36:37 PM
Here is a picture of my Daughter Annalee in her Mothers day dress I made her.  I got the fabric from Joann's nice and light, and the pattern is Sis Boom, I downloaded from youcanmakethis.com.
I made it a lil bigger as I want it to last thru the summer and my lil 22 mth old is a super weed, she is already 3 ft tall waring 3t sometime 4t cause of her height and long torso.
great pattern, plans for a few more dresses in the making some short and some tops.

the 2nd out fit is from a simplicity pattern I made this one in my sewing lessons and I was so proud to do my 1st zipper.  Again i sized it a lil bigger so it should be just perfect for July & Aug.

sorry i'll crop my photos next time and make sure Anna's hair is combed hehehe opps bad mommy

9  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Discussion and Questions / Fabric and no project on: March 16, 2010 01:09:13 PM
Ok I ordered this MUST HAVE unicorn fabric by Heather Ross and both coordinating fabric to make my daughter something special.

I just cant find a dress or anything that will be good for this fabric.  which feels so good and worth every penny.

I love it.  I have a small addiction to unusual unicorns and such.  hehe

Any suggestions to accent this fabric well are beyond welcomed.  Smiley

thanks in advance
