4  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Raglan coolness on: February 20, 2008 05:13:04 PM

7 skeins of Debbie Bliss Merino Aran
Size 7 needles
Some YOs thrown in.

This looks a little (a lot??) like a Green Gable but as I have never seen the pattern I cant say if features a mesh pattern of just YOs like Ive done. I tried it on a lot as I went, which really is the secret to a good fit. Although putting the stitches on scrap yarn and then back on the needles is really a pain in the ass. I also knit it too short once, too long the next time, and just right at last. Btw, I looves it Wink and I think I love knitting without a pattern even more.

5  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Heart Felt Stuffies on: January 29, 2008 09:02:45 AM
I added the heart detials to this little lady to jazz her up a bit.

The idea of a heart with legs running away popped in my head this morning. Who knows why.
6  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Oops! Earflap Hat now w/FREE pattern on: January 28, 2008 10:52:08 AM

This was try number two for a hat to fit the girl wonder twin. The first one was too small. This one was supposed to fit in a slouchy sort of way. It just looked pouffy and wrong. I tried it on this morning and it didn't look half bad on me =)

The little earflaps are actually perfect for me. I don't care for the look of full sized earflaps, but I have extremely sensitive ears. I am constantly pulling my hat down. I think this is a great halfway point.

7  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / Doll limb length on: December 16, 2007 12:56:13 PM
Is there a standard or formula for how long a dolls arms and legs should be in relation to their torso and head?

Do you all just do what seems right by eye or do you have your own way of judging?
8  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Felicity aka Keri's Sundance hat on: December 09, 2007 11:22:56 PM

I fell in love with this hat when I saw it on Keri Russell, as did most of the crafting world. I stumbled across a thread on craftster where everyone was trying to figure out this hat. I thought it would be the perfect thing to cover my always bad winter hair. I have had no success with knitting hats for myself and I had a ton of problems getting the fit of this right without ribbing. But it worked out in the end and I am happy with the results despite my frowny face =)
