My camera is out of commission at the moment but figured someone might be inspired by some of my older bike promotion cross stitch patterns to hang out on peoples bikes.

sorry, this is a bit image heavy

I hang them on peoples bikes as a gift to reward people for riding and help keep our world sustainable.
this one I hung out on a nice womens bicycle witha basket on morning lane. tie them on with a ribbon with the name of my blog so that people can trace the gift back and get inspired to do stuff like this themselves.

for that reason I leave the edges unfinished. leave it up to the recipient how they want to use, or not use, the piece.

i know the pattern is not on the blog yet. I only post after I have hung the design out on someones bike. I have quite a backlog of designs to disseminate. but figured posting it here would give others a chance to use the design irrespective of whether or not I have disseminated.

the hyperlink in this post should lead you to a page where you can view the design, if you want to save it as a pdf file just right click on the link and go to 'save link as' or 'save target as' depending on which browser you use.

hope that helps.

corduroy cat - it is all fun and games until they bomb the tube! I am also a big supporter of public transport. in fact, my other bike is a bus. ride carefully and enjoy the wind in your hair.

believe bikeriding is the future for a sustainable urban environment. usually I prefer promoting bike riding with positive messages aimed at the benefits of bikes rather than focusing on the negatives of cars but I like this image so much I decided to make an exception.

this is my most ambitious 'hang out on bicycle' project yet. based on an old Lex Drewinski poster from 1993, http://www.politicalgraphics.org/cgi-bin/album.pl?photo=21earth_wind_04%2F135%20PG_14715.jpg and revamped for x-stitch.

more detail and

My pattern is by no means perfect so feel free to update and improve it. If you like the design you can grab the pattern in pdf format at http://axstitchintime.files.wordpress.com/2010/01/gas-mask-pattern-updated1.pdf

haven't had the chance to hang this out on a bike yet as i have been working from home and riding less than I would like. so, if you are lucky, live in London and ride a bike, it could be you that finds it one sunny morning.

been working on a craftivist bike project using the image of a bike.
took me a while to work out the best way to do mini-bikes.

started out with this one, a bike design I had seen somewhere else online:

but descided I disliked the symetry A-line shape of the bike so started tweeking it

heart versions

a bit up to the individual, but think I like this last one the best, though have not yet added a heart design to it:
