1  Ode To Aquaman in Completed Projects by humboldtcherry on: August 03, 2014 01:08:02 PM

Oh ya! I love Aquaman!

My friend the Super Geek thinks

Aquaman is the laughing stock

out of all the super heros.

I have loved him since I was a kid.

As an adult, the love continues

and I've never been into blondes!

I used whatever I could find in my stash - A broken box - Hot Wheel - Old beads - Old buttons - Broken jewelry - plastic flowery stuff from old Christmas arrangements - etc
I bought nothing and ended up making the best shrine ever!!!
Approx 6 x 5

2  Bee Happy Quilt in Quilting: Completed Projects by humboldtcherry on: December 30, 2013 09:12:19 AM

This is a free pattern by Moda - Super sweet honeycomb with the "Queen Bee" on the side. The pattern went together quickly for those of you who really are in a time crunch!

3  Kitschy Mexican Saints Quilt in Quilting: Completed Projects by humboldtcherry on: June 25, 2013 04:46:33 PM
Lots of photos so grab a cuppa and sit down.

This was a custom order quilt for a woman in Texas. She loves her Alexander Henry fabric as much as I do.

She wanted the whole thing done in a "Teesha" way ( yikes! )

Hand quilt the whole thing together with a rainbow of colors and add flowers

Add shiny things for some bling

"Ric Rac and Rosaries" look good together. Who knew?

Named after St Francis so he needs to be added also (no St Francis to be found = make your own)

The Holy Trinity looks like they are little stoned (cracks me up)

St Anthony holding a "special needs" child (look at that face! I love it!)

One more for that extra smile

Now some randomness

Surround the entire thing in red-dingle balls and you have a kitschy made to order quilt.
43 x 50 in size and I think I need new finger tips.

4  My "Ooppss" Quilt in Quilting: Completed Projects by humboldtcherry on: January 23, 2013 01:56:17 PM

55 x 65 Quilt

Made from a block-of-the-month club at my favorite quilt shop. These squares were 1/2 off of what they were suppose to be. Each block took around three hours to make so I decided to just put them into an "Ooooppppsss Quilt".
