1  Re: Teeny mice from reclaimed fabrics in Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects by sweets4ever on: February 16, 2017 10:56:42 AM
I used to make these for my kitty, Sally, every Christmas.  She LOVED these.  My kitty passed away about two years ago, and I miss her every day.  I decided to make these for other people's kitties, so they can enjoy these little mice.  I re-drafted my pattern, and made some of these up using reclaimed/recycled fabric scraps.  I used embroidery floss I purchased at the thrift store.  The mice are stuffed with polyfil and they do have a fabric-wrapped core of catnip inside for extra fun!

I embroidered their faces, so there aren't any little pieces that can come off and choke the kitty.

This one was made from a vintage table cloth!
This one was made from a shirt:

And so was this one:

The tails are cotton cord, but could also be made of ribbon or rick rack.
Thanks for looking!

Sorry, but I don't understand where is the tutorial. Can you help me?
Thank you.

I'm not sure if this is the exact one, but I had it saved from a Pinterest pin with no source.  It looks similar, at least.  I bet you could make it work!

6  Re: rotating pics = distorted image in Craftster Picture Hosting Support by sweets4ever on: December 22, 2016 03:19:46 PM
I think it's because the original sizing is still in the text of your actual post on here.  Looking at this one http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=451118.0

Code:
This one is my fave ;). (oops, image got stretched when I rotated it)

If you take it back to the original plain old "img" code, it will be okay.  Like this!

This one is my fave ;). (oops, image got stretched when I rotated it)

Let's bring in the New Year with our annual gingerbread house contest!  Each year, we've had so much fun seeing your gingerbread creations.  If this is your first year on Craftster, be sure to check out our previous years:

It's time to get out those mixing bowls and get crafting!  Your challenge this month is to make and decorate a gingerbread house.  Any type of house is permitted (cottage, castle, etc.) as long as it has walls and a roof of gingerbread.  Your entry must be made of edible parts, but it's not limited to sweets only.  The only non-edible parts allowed are a base, lighting and/or electrical components.  No gingerbread house kits for this challenge.  No size restraints -- miniature to life-size houses are tasty and welcome for this challenge.

Rules:

  • Craft your project during this challenge period (Dec 5 2016 - Jan 9 2017) only.  Projects created before this timeframe will be excluded from the voting poll.
  • Each participant can enter ONE project (Although your entry can have multiple components to it).
  • Post your craft during the period of Jan 2 - Jan 9 2017. No sooner.  No later.  On Jan 2, there will be a special folder created for entries.  We will reply with the folder/board link here on this thread.
  • Voting will happen from Jan 10 - Jan 17 2017.
  • The winner will be officially announced on our first business Monday of the next month -- in our February newsletter, on this thread and on the Craftster blog.  We will contact you via Private Message, after the announcement, to get your prize package information.
  • If cheating of any sort is discovered, the applicable entry and votes will be disqualified.

Originality:

It's probably impossible to know whether your project is 100% original, has never been posted on Craftster or made by anyone else in the past.  But if your project was definitely inspired by something you've seen before, please give credit to that project.

Prizes:

At the end, we'll set up a poll right here and the first place winner will get...

(1) their project in the Featured Projects area
(2) their project in the Craftster Blog
(3) and this Craftster prize (winner can receive prize in U.S. or non-U.S.):
Their choice of any one item from one of Craftster's online shops!
