1  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: My FIRST Crochet - Baby Beanie on: February 26, 2010 09:13:46 PM
This is amazing, especially as a new crocheter! I've never crocheted a hat myself, never had the patience, but I'm sure your gift will be well received! I like that it's orange, too. Tongue
2  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: good enough present? fancy red earring urgent NEED HELP! on: February 26, 2010 09:12:03 PM
I think it's beautiful! I don't know about it being too formal, I don't usually wear earrings like that, but I would be very happy to receive these! I definitely reckon that these earrings would be a lovely present and not too little at all. Smiley
3  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: monster wants a hug... and stars... aka a couple more baby quilts on: January 26, 2010 08:54:06 PM
The crazy nine-patch is beautiful! I LOVE crazy quilts and that one is perfect! Fantastic colour combination too, I am so envious. The little guy it's going to is going to be so happy with it!
I love the way the other one matches the backing fabric perfectly and the little monster is just the cutest. Cheesy
4  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Re: Amigurumi Goat & Dragon on: January 26, 2010 06:19:18 PM
I'm glad you like the wings, MsPremiseConclusion. I've never really done free-form crochet before, so using it for the blue in the wings was a little nerve-wracking. Also, they're a lot more even in real life. Tongue

Thanks, shannoneve!
5  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: Long-limbed Sock Monkey on: January 26, 2010 06:15:22 PM
Thank you for the kind comments, everybody. Cheesy

And no, magicfan, I didn't have a pattern. I kind of made it up as I went, and if I were to make another one for this particular monkey I would make the back with less stitches, it's a little loose. Tongue

Thanks, everybody! Cheesy

He's 9 months old - maybe that's too old for one of these. I probably should have done some research on what babies enjoy before starting the project. XD
7  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: TUTORIAL: Singlet Style Shopping Bag w Pattern (like the plastic shopping b on: January 26, 2010 06:09:09 PM
That's fantastic! I hope their new home uses them a lot - nobody really needs any more plastic bags. D: And, your new avatar is scary.  Grin Tongue

Thank you. Smiley

That's a good idea, cyndy225 - he would look more like a goat if he had a longer nose, I reckon. I can't bear to change him though, he's been like this for a while now - this project isn't new. Tongue I was thinking of adding goat's mouth to help with the idea of a goat showing through, but I think it would end up looking too much like a cat. D:

I'm kind of at a loss as to what I should do with them now. I generally dislike dolls, especially ones that just sit there and look pretty. These aren't very useful.
10  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Amigurumi Goat & Dragon on: January 25, 2010 04:17:10 PM
Made from this pattern: http://crochetme.com/media/p/88885.aspx
Except I didn't like the way the limbs came out so I changed mine a little, and added details so that you could identify what they are easier. Smiley

Lunie and Jancir are together in this pic:

Jancir isn't really recognisable as a goat... He's meant to be, see his horns and funny ears? Tongue
Just Jancir:

I made Lunie out of thread so she's much smaller. She has a tonne more detail than Jancir, too. The inside of her wings were done with freeform crochet, they were difficult to get right. Her hair was the most frustrating thing though. Tongue
