231  Craft Swaps / ACTIVE SWAPS WHERE SIGN-UP PERIOD HAS CLOSED / Re: Use What You Have Swap (Sign-Ups CLOSED - FULL) Send By 5/17/14 on: May 14, 2014 08:06:29 PM
Arrrgh, things got crazy here over the past few days. I only have a couple of things to do on my final project, and I even found a box that will fit everything. But between the other work I had to do, getting ready to start a college class, and having a moderately unexpected family member arrive with no clear departure date, my time disappeared. It'd be easier if I didn't anticipate needing drying time before I can mail the things! Gah! Maybe tomorrow will be better.

Woo, love the critters! And shoebills are just about the coolest birds ever. Well, okay I say that about a lot of birds, but they're up there. Smiley

This is awesome! Nicely done! And Tonka is an excellent model. Smiley
I think I would give up after about the 3rd triangle. Well done!

I love this! Especially the little rose bush. I wish my real garden was this size when it comes to weeding.

It's an "Aww, Tiny Cuteness!" holder. Cheesy

I get super excited whenever I see a scale-reference coin in a thumbnail. These are adorable, and nicely detailed! I love the yellow squash. Smiley

I'll be done in no time! 2 projects down, and one that's in the works. The trick will be finding a box it fits in (but thankfully my ridiculously huge stash includes packing materials too.)

Another project done! Gearing up for the last one, which will probably be the most creative. And include lots of Mod Podge. Grin

I finally got a medium done! Woo! I also found something in my stash that would make an awesome project, and now am deciding if I want to skip the other thing I had planned or just have an extra.
240  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: My first double-knit hat! on: May 05, 2014 10:44:59 AM
Sweet!  I have never heard of double knit, but that is due to the fact that I am clueless in general about knitting. Was it seriously more difficult than regular knitting?
those colors are fantastic. Love the tassel, too. Looks mucho warm! Bet you are a bit peeved that you now have to wait out the seasons to wear it. (?)
It looks so professionally done. Love it!

Thanks! double-knitting is actually pretty simple, except when you have to tear it out and start over because it's 2x as much work. Tongue You mainly alternate the inside and outside stitches on your needle, and do one side at a time (skipping the other stitches).
Thankfully it has been rainy enough that I can still wear it, though I actually finished this a couple months ago. I was super excited to have finally finished a knitting project in time to wear it in the cold outside!
