The bunny is felted, the blanket is knit, and the sheep are q-tips, matches and fluff. Everything else is paper, sticks and toothpicks, and a bit of bubble wrap. Smiley

23  Re: Mini 13 Days of Halloween Round 6 in The Swap Gallery by ChameleonHound on: September 02, 2014 04:22:40 PM
Okay, I'd like to start with apologies to Sederick - he was an amazing partner that was super patient while my old computer died and I had to wait for a new one before I could post photos. It's finally here, so here goes! Oh, and a disclaimer - there was more candy when I opened the packages. Can't say where it went, probably gnomes or something. Wink
Here are all the goodies together. Can't wait to see what they all are!

And check out this awesome card that Sederick designed himself!

Day 1: An awesome hidden ghost canister! The light makes him appear! This is waaay too cool, I can't figure out how he did it! And also candy. Smiley

Day 2: A really cool pendant that was molded and cast from other decorations. I'd love to learn how to do that, too. Oh, and candy.

Day 3: Six awesome ATCs in a cute little gravestone. They're made over Magic TG cards. And candy.

My favorites: I love this Dia de los muertos cat! And the animal band is rockin', reminds me of muppets somehow. It's wonderful!

Day 4: Jack Skellington!!!!!!!! EEeeeeeeeeiloveit. He came in a cute little coffin, too. With candy!

Day 5: I got this adorable print by Sederick of a little guy from Trick r Treat. I haven't seen it, but from what I can tell from IMDB the movie isn't as cute as this dude. Oh, and a spider too. And candy.

Day 6: Lookit, velvet embossing! So cool!! And a whole boatload of charms, gee whiz. I can think of some good uses for those. Smiley And also a spider, and candy. (Sorry for the pic quality, photographing black velvet is hard)

Day 7: An adorable Halloween gnome!!! (And candy) Unfortunately its head came off in shipping, but it's got plenty of company among things that need to be glued since I moved. Roll Eyes  And when I was taking pictures, I walked through a strong beam of sunlight and discovered it GLOWS IN THE DARK!!!

Day 8: A really really awesome Dia de los Muertos painted skull luminary. I really like how this was done! And it works perfectly on the porch table while I sit out and enjoy the full(ish) moon, while I enjoy my candy. Smiley

Day 9: A cute little Halloween house, and some glow-in-the-dark stickers!

Day 10: Check out this cool candleholder with charms! And the pumpkin lights up with blue and red lights, it's like a Halloween disco up here. Smiley

Day 11: Today my partner decided to branch out from Halloween and include Doctor Who. Fine by me!!! Grin Check out this shadowbox with whovian-themed charms; there's a little adipose, dalek, TARDIS, K-9, fez and some London-y things. By the way, dangling things are notoriously hard to photograph.

Day 12: So sad it's almost over.  Cry However, I was more than glad to find this little guy in my box for today. He's so cute! Just lookit those lil earrings! Cheesy Also candy, and a spider.

I did let him out of his cage, which may have been a mistake. Some candy is now unaccounted for.

Day 13: Prepare to be jealous. Today I opened the MOST FANTASTIC tiny witch house!!! The fireplace glows, and the pumpkin and cauldron can move around. I love it so much! Lookit the little crystal on the table! And the kitty!

And I got all of this other loot too! Lotsa candy, and all sorts of stickers and embellishments!

Thank you for being such an awesome swap partner, Sederick! And thanks to lindyv321 and kittykill for organizing what has continued to be my favorite swap of the year. Grin

24  Re: 2014 DeStash-Along in Craftalongs by ChameleonHound on: May 24, 2014 09:29:30 PM
I did some de-stashing in a recent swap! After digging through my box of paint-able items, I found this tray that was begging to be decorated.

25  Dinosaur Tea Tray in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by ChameleonHound on: May 24, 2014 09:27:15 PM
Hi everyone!
This here's a tea tray I decorated for my partner in the "Use What You Have" Swap.

I used a combination of paint (the pink parts), and decoupaged tissue paper (gray) and book pages. The silhouette I drew on some fine art paper, cut out with an exacto knife, and mod-podged over the paint. And then it got heavily glittered, 'cause what's tea without dinosaurs and glitter?

Thanks for looking!

26  Re: Hoopla A-Long 2013-2014 in Needlework: Stitchalongs by ChameleonHound on: May 23, 2014 05:10:58 PM
I made a hoop for a swap this month! It was more for my partner's guilty pleasures than my own, but I had fun making it anyway.

27  Lunar Mission Hoop in Needlework: Completed Projects by ChameleonHound on: May 23, 2014 05:09:06 PM
Hi all! I made this hoop recently for my partner in the "Use What You Have" Swap.
She mentioned liking space, american and glitter themes so I combined them!

I appliqued the moon surface on with interfacing and finished with a chain stitch, and the earth was just a patch I had around. The stars are fabric paint (glitter of course). I made the flag pole with a heavy braid chain stitch, for which I used this tutorial.

Here's some detail. The flag was done in a back-stitch with shiny thread, and I used satin stitch to fill the blue, and fabric paint for the stripes.

I actually like the way this came out; I didn't think I was going to. The stars were a little sloppy, but I had a hard time getting my brain around spacing 50 stars in a tiny box.  Huh

Anyway, thanks for looking!

28  Re: ONGOING ATC SWAP APRIL 2014 GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by ChameleonHound on: May 18, 2014 05:28:32 AM
Check out this cool collage card I got from CDEeeek for my found objects theme!

I love that I keep discovering things I hadn't noticed before! One of the little signs was detached, and I'm not sure where it goes so I haven't attached it yet.
I especially like "don't dawdle".  Smiley

30  Costa Rica Treasure Frame in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by ChameleonHound on: May 04, 2014 03:00:05 PM
Hi All! Can I tempt you with an alluring beach photo? Wink

Sadly, this is a project that waited for almost 6 years for me to accomplish. In the Summer of '08 I worked for a sea turtle conservation group in Costa Rica. I spent a lot of time on the beach, and wanted a little bit to remember it by. So, I found a nice little glass bottle and filled it with some sand, pebbles, sea shells, and ocean water. Unfortunately, the folks in the baggage-handling areas of the airport were rough enough with my well-padded treasures that the bottle broke on the way home, and I was left with a baggie of soggy beach crumbs and bits of glass.  Cry

I wasn't sure what to do with it until I discovered this pin on shadow box picture frames. I got one of the photos I took that summer printed out at the pharmacy and mounted it in a shadow box frame I got at Michael's. Then I sifted the glass shards out of the sand, chose some shells and driftwood and seeds, and put it all together!

I'm pretty happy with it, and am definitely going to enjoy my little bit of Costa Rica now that I can have it on display! I especially like that I can tilt the box around and get a slightly different beach from time to time - a bit more like the real thing. Smiley

Here's a pic so you can see the photo a bit better. It's really hard to photograph a picture frame without getting a reflection!

Enjoy! Thanks for looking!
