1  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: dull women have immaculate houses on: December 02, 2008 02:27:17 PM
Also:
A bad day's stitching is better than a good day's housework.
An immaculate house is the sign of a wasted life.
I hate four-letter words: cook, dust, wash, iron.
I'd rather be stitchin' than in the kitchen.
Stitching forever, housework whenever.
When I learned how to stitch, I forgot how to clean.

elijor's on the right track: a blogger posted a pre-seaming photo of a Lotorp bag (from Noro Revisited by Cornelia Tuttle Hamilton) at http://gromitknits.typepad.com/gromit_knits/2005/11/index.html.
5  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Blue Sky Royal Alpaca 'patina' - what colour is it actually?? on: April 18, 2008 02:49:16 PM
On their website, http://blueskyalpacas.com/yarn_detail.php?yarns_ID=16, it looks green. Here, too: http://www.flyingfingers.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=20_51_1664&products_id=1728. And this site says it's "pale olive": http://kpixie.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=35_39_187&products_id=1975.

Knit For The Cure
http://www.komenct.org/Knit_Main.htm

Attention all knitters and crocheters, help fight breast cancer one stitch at at time! Here is your opportunity to help in the fight against breast cancer while doing what you love to do:

Donate hand-crafted items for the Pink Boutique, part of the Shop for the Cure on Race Day, June 7, 2008. Hats, scarves, mittens, shawls, felted bags, baby items, cell phone or iPod covers, or similar items. Creative use of pink is encouraged but any color items are welcome. 100% of the money raised through the sale of these items goes to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Connecticut Affiliate.

Donate comfort items for the oncology units of area hospitals. Chemo hats (winter and summer weights for men and women), lightweight shawls, lap robes or small throws, scarves and mittens (some types of chemo make people sensitive to the cold). These items are for anyone undergoing cancer treatment. The use of pink is encouraged but all colors are welcome.

Participate in Knit in the Park on Race Day, June 7, 2008. Participants will register for a special category of the race. There will be door prizes and an open area where everyone can come and spend the day knitting in the fresh air. More details will be available when registration opens in the Spring. Plan now! Form a team to join everyone in the park on Race Day!

Donated items will collected throughout the year at these locations:

We appreciate the support of these participating retailers.

I got an email from Janet that she is closing her shop. Right now things are 20% off, her closing date is March 31st. She is also selling displays.

She had mentionned to me last summer that she was hoping to sell the business; I guess she did not find a buyer.
