1  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Ear Flap Headband v3.0 on: April 17, 2009 12:33:27 PM
I'm back again with the headbands haha. This is the newer, more functional design.

Thanks for looking!
2  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Reupholstered Office Chair on: February 27, 2009 10:26:09 PM
My family has just moved into a new house, so I went thrifting for some furniture for my room. I nabbed this cool office chair for $10, but the fabric was dirty, old, and an ugly poop yellow color. It had to go.

After:

(Sorry for the horrible cellphone pictures. We haven't unpacked the camera yet.)

This was my first reupholster, and it's not perfect, but I'm really happy with the result. Smiley

Thanks for looking! Smiley
3  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Hyneman and Savage on: February 02, 2009 02:20:18 AM
Okay, so I know this post is about 3 months late, but bear with me  Smiley. For this past Halloween my boyfriend and I decided to be Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage.

And if you don't know who they are, shame on you.

Cheesy I love the 'facial hair' hahaha! How did you attach them to your face?
Regular old scotch tape. It held up pretty well hahah.

I love them.  I hear they hate each other....
No way? Must be a love/hate thing.

Thanks everyone!
4  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: Rabbit dog? on: August 11, 2008 12:34:08 AM
Thanks all! I really enjoyed making it. I might make another one in the future. Smiley

How did you like the cluster fluff? A friend of mine just gave me a bag of it that he didn't use for a project, but I haven't had a chance to try it. It seems nice and squishy, though.
Well, I'm no expert on stuffing, but it worked out alright for me. It's the only kind I've used and despite my thoughts, it was easy to stuff. And you're right, it is nice and squishy. I wouldn't recommend it for firmer projects though.
5  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Rabbit dog? on: August 10, 2008 10:29:40 PM
My cousin is due to have her baby soon this month, so I wanted to make little Eleanor Elizabeth a "welcome to the world!" gift.

This was my first attempt ever at making a stuffed toy. It's made with really soft fleece and cotton fabric and is stuffed with Cluster Stuff. The nose and mouth are hand stitched, as well as part of the left eye. My sewing machine decided to go wonky on me halfway through the eye so it's kind of messy.

Thanks for looking!  Cheesy
6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Roxanne (put on that red dress) lotsa piccys on: June 02, 2008 11:46:12 AM
If you're worried about your booty popping out you could wear tights or leggings. Won't be as bad.
7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Experimental hat series: Stages of Grief (Wordy and image heavy) 5 hats on: May 21, 2008 11:58:30 PM
Dude. This is insane. This is the first project I've seen on here in a while that has really really impressed me enough to make me want to post how impressed I really am. My best friend's dad died a few months ago, & I think the hat that gets to me most is the False Cheerfulness one. She's being strong, & I know she's still hurting but she exudes her normal self most of the time.

Anyway, amazing job. Really remarkable. Thanks so much for sharing!
8  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Earflap Headband v2.0 on: April 30, 2008 03:30:08 AM
I wasn't satisfied with the original anymore, plus I lost it, so I decided to come up with a different pattern.

Here's the original for comparison:

I'm much more satisfied now, & I'm definitely going to make different variations of these.

Thanks for looking!
9  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Broomstick Lace Beret on: April 10, 2008 12:33:01 PM
I'd been working on this on & off over the past two months I would say, & just finished it this morning (hence the I-just-woke-up look). It took exactly one skein of Lion Brand Microspun; I literally was left with about 2 inches of yarn after fastening off. No pattern, completely winged, & happy with the outcome.

Thanks for looking!
10  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Lacy Doily hair hider on: March 07, 2008 12:59:20 AM
Wow, that's unbelievably similar to a hat they're selling on UrbanOutfitters.com for $20 (plus S&H).

I like yours better, & I love that color. Great job!
