1  Re: Alphabet ATC Y,Z Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by boogirl1984 on: June 28, 2009 09:32:07 PM
I received the following from my AMAZING partners SewHelpMe and Panthermoon. Amazing both because of the ATCs they sent me, but even more so because they put up with me sending them the wrong cards. Sorry again for the confusion!  Sad  Now on to their work...

Y for Yoga from SewHelpMe. I've never received an ATC like this with different parts and love it. And I do yoga so it's perfect.

Z for Zebra from Panthermoon. Love zebras and love the card. I really like the texture of the background.

Thank you both again!

Thanks so much to all of my partners for their lovely earrings, all in the picture below. I've worn them all and love them all. Thanks especially for taking into account my torn earlobes when you made them, they are all perfect and not too heavy. :-)

Partners: little green dragonfly, Saor, taloola, and Kerallyn

Here are all my lovely cards from my partners. My scanner is not cooperating today so apologies for the less than stellar pics, if you have better please post.

V for Violin, from katcal. Hard to tell in the pic but the background paper is textured, very nice!

W for Wenches, from coryjo.  This one made me smile, great word choice!

X for Xs and Os, from ficklepegasus Very creative, and I like that Xs won, I'm always Xs.  :-)

I received my S for Snob card from fatewineroses and I love it!  It made me laugh because first, I can be a snob, and second, I love wine, but I am not snobby about wine, just the opposite as I'm too cheap to be.  :-)  Anyway, thanks for the lovely card!

I was lucky to receive from AprilDraven last week and couldn't be more happy about everything she sent!   Smiley  Everything is so well made and just makes me very very happy!

All the goodies:

First, a crocheted box that resembles the TARDIS, with pictures of Rose and Ten on it:

The side, with perhaps my favorite scene from "New Earth:"

And inside that was a decorated altoids tin with a great picture of Ten on the front:

(Ugh no matter how many times I tried my pics still came out blurry!)

Such a cute picture and the top is so smooth, I'm awful at getting my tins that smooth and neat looking.

And inside that was a great heart necklace with a picture of the TARDIS on it:

Trying it on:

And finally, my own Ten doll!  I keep randomly hugging it and rubbing its hair, I love it so much!

I don't have anything amuragami (sp?) and am just completely impressed and in awe of it.  His glasses are pipecleaners and his hair is so soft.  And I just love his tie and jacket and everything.

And here he is posing with a Tardis-y sonic screwdriver pen a friend got me for Christmas:

Thank you so much AprilDraven!  I only hope I can live up to it and send you something equally as amazing!  (And if your pics are more clear please post.  It was dreary here today and I couldn't get them in natural light.)

I'm glad all my cards have been received and that everyone seems to like them! This week was a rough one for me but coming home to an ATC a day helped a lot.  Here they all are:

Love/Creativity from calluna.  The quote reads:  "I can always be distracted by love, but eventually I get horny for my creativity."  Gilda Radner  Haha, so good!  And the use of paint and paper is really nice, thanks!

Sending all my Love from neverseenblue.  So pretty, i just love the use of a book page and the delicate cut-out, thank you!

Words from the heart by amaryllisroze.  More book pages, this time a dictionary, love it!  And it's so shiny, I keep playing with it in the light.  I like the arm appearing out of nowhere, too, thanks!

Now two from buttercup592007, since nervous about it being a first swap.  No need, they are great!
Bleeding - I love the colors and it's got some shine too that adds a nice touch.

The Fight with Love - Lots of sparkle, which I love, and the chain at the top is a great idea.  Thank you!

Thanks to all my partners, really enjoyed this swap!

So far I have received my T and U cards.

T for Time from panthermoon.  I love how delicate the pieces are and the background and color choices.  Thank you!

And U for Usine (Factory) from lunanne.  I always try and guess what the word is supposed to be and this one stumped me, great work!  I love how they are different pieces and the marbled style of paper for background works well.  Thank you!

I received my last card this week from Riddle, R for Reptilian.

I love the colors, and the background is textured, and has a great feel.  And the iguana (?) is quite imposing!  Thanks!

I received a great package from half pint today.  I love everything and seeing how she interpreted things, and the goodies she had to share.  Thanks so much, I am already getting inspiration!

(Apologies as my camera just stopped working this weekend, so I did it all on a scanner.)

Vintage:  Old postcard of the Statue of Liberty
Local:  Pamphlet from Portland on biking
Label:  An old booklet from Life magazine on the hula hoop.  (So cute, I used to love hula hoops.)

Postal:  Stamps, which I love and collect, and a playing card postman.  I have this exact card set!  I was so excited when I saw him.
Chunky:  Little foam animals like the ones she labeled everything with.
Sharp:  Haha, this was the first thing I pulled out and it made me laugh.  Mini weapons, a sword, saw, and a few others.  I am going to have so much fun with these.
Botanical:  What looks like homemade paper with bits of plants and flowers.

Transportation:  Pretty photo and some stickers from a Japanese messenger company.
Whimsical:  Hard to tell with my scanning, but it's a strip of shiny reflective...someth ing.  I love it though and may put it up at work.  (I face away from everyone and need a mirror to keep people from sneaking up.)
Over 20:  Various types of ATC backs, yea!

Sender's choice:  A bunch of envelopes made from magazine pages.
Found, part 1:  The front of a found photo of a sunset.

Typography:  A sheet of rub-on letters
Found, part 2:  The back of the found photo.  I love the use of "beautifull," spelled that way, three times.  Great find!
The pink square was my attempt at scanning in one of her embroidered altered pieces, seen below.

Altered:  three embroiderd pieces, on three different mediums.  I really really love these and can't wait to use them.  I was especially touched by the learning to fly one, as it's the name of my blog and favorite Tom Petty song.  Thank you!

Photo:  What is maybe a negative of an old photo.  Looks like a young couple on a ship's deck or a dock.  I shouldn't play favorites, but this is definitely in my top...15.  I think I may frame it.  Or just keep staring at and writing their life stories in my head.

Thanks again, half pint, for everything!  And thanks to penlowe for organizing and coming up with such a great swap!

This is my Q for Quilt card from Tygir.  It's entirely fabric and I love it!  It's so soft and well-made.  Thank you!
