21  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Chandelier bead necklace on: October 01, 2011 01:58:43 PM
Lucky me found a huge bag of chandelier crystals at a thrift store a while back, so when I saw one like this on spidermom's wists I knew I had to make her one for a recent swap!

It was a fun project, and I used some cool ephemera given to me by the one and only calluna! The chain is brass.

I'll have to make more since I have so many of the crystals. Thanks for looking!
22  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / French knot sheepies in a wreath pasture on: October 01, 2011 01:54:33 PM
I made this for the wonderful MissingWillow in the September birthday swap! I'm a big fan of her farm life blog, so I jumped at the chance to make her something. This project was heavily inspired/influenced by this Craftster post: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=288784.0 Smiley

I constructed it inside a hoop, then had the idea to attach it to this wicker wreath I've had forever. It reminds me of my parents' place in the country Smiley Then I covered the back side with a circle of felt and added a picture hanger.

Close-up of the sheepies. I love this fabric, but I only have a few small scraps of it left.  Cry It was perfect for this hoop!

Yay! Thanks for looking!
23  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Whimsical Victorian Robot Moms in Nature (lotsa pics) on: October 01, 2011 01:43:21 PM
Those were the five themes my awesome partner in the One Tiny Book rd2 swap picked! (the great and powerful Spidermom) So here's the little book I made for her in which I tried to include some of all five themes.

And I somehow didn't get a picture of my favorite page of all, so here is spidermom's photo of it:

This book was my first time with binding and I really liked how it turned out! I'd like to do more. Here's the video link I used for the binding: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=trSQuwCVYMM&feature=related

Thanks for lookin'!
24  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Verona is for Lovers--Shakespeare bag on: September 11, 2011 08:30:53 PM
This bag was inspired by a fellow Craftster's tote bag wisted by my swap partner, pinkleo: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=293973.msg3342721#msg3342721

The weird thing in the middle is a little ruff I made from buckram and embroidered on my machine. I thought it would be cute. Ruffs are cool!

Strap is wide crimson satin ribbon and the quote is hand-embroidered.
25  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Some Harry Potter jewelry pieces on: September 11, 2011 08:23:02 PM

Aqua-colored Sorcerer's Stone earrings. They give you eternal life! Mwahahaha...

matching ring

My version of a time-turner necklace with some 'wheels of time' on the chain. With extra long chain for sharing with friends!

Close-up. I burned my finger soldering that chain to the back. Still not getting the hang of soldering Sad
26  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Leo the Lion zodiac earrings on: September 11, 2011 08:18:17 PM
Put these in the reconstructed category because I really just embellished them. I found the pieces (a pendant with matching clip-on earrings) in a collection of junk jewelry. Luckily, I got to use them in a swap for the wonderful pinkleo!

Just added some swarovski peridot rhinestones to this one (Leo's birthstone)

Made the two earrings into rings, with aqua/turquoise fabric backings. One is steampunk themed and the other has a teeny crown made of beads on his little head. Looks cute up close!
27  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Fun with Chainmaille on: September 11, 2011 08:14:43 PM
Made with chainmaille tutorials from http://www.cgmaille.com.

Aluminum and copper (don't remember the weave....)

Aluminum and copper, mobius flowers.

Aluminum and copper, "rhinos snorting drano."

Thanks for looking Smiley I'll be making more maille soon for birthday gifts.
28  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Musical lion felt embroidery on: September 11, 2011 08:05:57 PM

I like the idea of felt objects on a patterned background! A cute animal makes it even better. This was for the lion-loving pinkleo in a swap.
