5  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / any interested in hosting a hand spun yarn swap w/ knitters and crocheters? on: June 29, 2010 11:46:05 AM
I thought this might be a good idea? maybe we get a group of spinners together with crocheters or knitters then do a mailing......

have the spinners spin a said ammount of yarn times two and mail it to a knitter or crocheter and have them make two projects (or at least one for the person who spun the yarn (with the hand spun yarn) and make sure they still have enough yarn left for themselves)... any ideas ?  anyone interested in hosting this one?

any interst at all?
6  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Completed Projects / I finished the new wheel! on: May 05, 2010 09:08:36 AM
 Cheesy
The Kromski Prelude
Straight from Poland to Minnesota Smiley

(just put together)

(after I spun on it a few weeks)
This one shows the color better

I finished it with TRANSTINT wood dye dulluted with 1 qt of rubbing alcohol. Then about 4 layers of fast drying (which is 4 to 6 hours haha) poly. Sanded inbetween each layer..... It took almost a month to get the spinning wheel and then 2 days to finish it! It was a hard two days not to just put it together and start spinning!
