1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Stencil my shirt swap on: November 28, 2005 06:16:19 PM
I <3 stenciled shirts...and I'm not sure if this has been done before, but I thought it would be fun to make each other stenciled shirts. I know some people use different techniques and stuff so I thought it would be cool to see how everything turns out. I was thinking a minimum of 2 shirts. just an idea...any suggestions or things to add let me know!

3  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Anchorman Swap..has this been done?? on: November 24, 2005 02:37:39 PM
Well Anchorman has got to be my fav movie EVER! I wasn't sure if there was already a swap for this movie or not...I don't know how on earth I could have missed it but I thought it would be fun to do. They've got such memorable quotes it would be easy to make stenciled shirts, bags, jewelry, etc...
Let me know what you think! I don't think I could organize but hopefully there's someone out there!  Wink

5  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / my fuzzy sock monkey...cheeks! on: October 01, 2005 07:54:53 AM
I know you guys have seen tons of sock monkey's here...but mine is extra special because he's made from a pair of fuzzy socks! I would definitely suggest using socks like these because they're really stretchy..so its easier to stuff them and the fuzzy-ness covers your stitches!
So his name is Cheeks and he's a jungle monkey (i'm not sure of any other kind of monkey.....)he also likes to surf Grin

heh...he tried to climb into our mango tree but the photographer got her hair caught in a HUGE spider web with a HUGE spider in it...so she had to grab cheeks and RUN!

I actually had to hand sew this guy since I don't have a sewing machine yet. I'm on my way out now to go get some more fuzzy socks! Its my friends b-day today and she LOVES monkeys..so do you think this is good enough to give her?
6  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / who still likes pokemon??! well i guess my 8 year old cousin does.... on: September 19, 2005 09:28:31 AM
Well my cousin Taylor is turning 9 and she is still into pokemon, I searched here on craftster and I found lots of purses made of pokemon cards..but I need something more girly and 9 year old-ish.. Smiley does anyone have any suggestions or has anyone made anything pokemon related before? i was thinking of making her a cute little tote and maybe a bookmark (she's a reader Grin) and maybe a cute green bracelet (she likes green too Cheesy) does that sound like enough?

oh and she just moved into a new house so room decorations is an option too! thanks guys! Smiley

here's the fabric i found at walmart:
7  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / OCSA art school mural on: September 17, 2005 08:06:50 PM
Well I go to the Osceola County School for the Arts and we recently painted a mural on an outside wall on our campus! It looks really awesome and represents the first year we opened and all of the art departments! We recently finished another wall that has the Class of 05' in anime form...its cute but i don't have a pic of that yet..so here is the OCSA mural:

its fun to look at and was fun to help paint Smiley we've also painted on a lot of the other walls on campus but i never got to take pics of it before they painted over it. Each year the art students get a wall and get to paint w/e they want on it..its really fun to see the finished product Wink
comments are welcome!

9  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / *old pieces..to new necklace* on: September 17, 2005 02:11:22 PM
My grandma recently gave me a HUGE box of junk that she didn't want..now most of it was weird stuff but i found some necklaces and bracelets that I took apart and put it on this gold chain that I found in the suprise box and voila:

the middle pendant was an earring and the other charms and baubles came from different necklaces!
Comments are always welcome! Cheesy
10  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / *to my music lovers comes a pencil case and skipping bag!* MINI TUTE ADDED on: September 17, 2005 02:08:37 PM
well my grandma brought me some music fabric from Oklahoma and she was planning on making a quilt out of it..but she found that I'd been sewing bags like crazy and decided to give me the fabric instead..I thought it was sorta tacky at first but its grown on me! So here is what I used it for:

my cute pencil/pen case with hearts

and skipping bag!

and here are the two together!

comments are always welcome! Wink

EDIT:
here is a really simple tutorial!

STEP 1: First you'll want to make a pattern similar to the one above..mine measures "8 x 8" WITHOUT the flap on top...you can add the flap and make it however big you want it.
STEP 2: Cut out 2 of these plus 1 medium or heavy interfacing
STEP 3: Hem all the way around both pieces of fabric
STEP 4: Put both pieces together..with bad good sides facing outwards
STEP 5: Sew all the way around so now you have one piece that looks like a tombstone! Cheesy
STEP 6: Then, take your bottom edge and fold it up until you get to the top where the round flap is starting to form
STEP 7: Pin sides and sew
STEP 8: add decoration! and i hot glued on velcro!
