11  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / la luna y el fauno on: March 02, 2013 11:11:26 AM
I drew this handsome guy last night after watching Pan's Labyrinth. I still have to draw 'la luna' but I'm super happy with how he turned out. I think I might use this image to do a watercolor painting (I love the look of watercolor but I haven't had many changes to paint in that medium). Anyways, I hope you all like him Smiley C & C appreciated!

12  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / The lion and the owl repurposed watches on: February 09, 2013 08:41:32 PM
I got my idea for this from a pin (pinterest addict right here) Cheesy Someone had taken vintage watches and put old pictures of family members into them. Since I got these watches from a thrift store and had no emotional attachment to them I decided to fill them with artwork of my favorite animals. I LOOOOOOVE barn owls and big cats!!

This was the most annoyingly tedious craft I've undertaken in a while but I think it was worth it. So... y'all better like it Wink

Before

The guts

After

Another option that I decided against.. I still really like it though so I might save it for a rainy day

I have to figure out what to do with the clock faces because I like them too much to throw away... any ideas fellow craftsters?

Thanks for looking Smiley
13  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Beaded wrap bracelets on: April 09, 2012 10:14:13 AM
Last night I was feeling super guilty because I literally have been laying on the couch for the past 3 days instead of doing homework. But, I had already started watching The Fellowship of the Ring, so I made these 3 bracelets instead Cheesy I didn't intend to do this but the colors really remind me of spring! I think the green one is my favorite. Enjoy!

14  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Leather wrap green jade bracelet on: March 03, 2012 08:29:44 PM
It has been far far too long since I've posted anything in craftster!

I saw a tutorial for this bracelet online and decided I had to make one for myself. I used 2mm brown leather cord, jade beads, green sewing thread, and a jewel charm for the clasp.

You can find the tutorial here: http://www.rings-things.com/blog/2011/03/08/how-to-make-wrapped-leather-bracelets/#.T1LucvFBt2B

Hope you all like my rendition of the leather wrap bracelet Smiley

15  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Eve on: December 03, 2010 11:13:45 PM
A friend asked me to paint her a picture of a tree using only black, white and red, and this is what resulted! I used acrylic paint on canvas. The second picture is more true to the actual color. I haven't decided whether I should call her "Eve's Bane" or just "Eve". Comments, criticisms, and opinions welcome!

16  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Woman King on: October 24, 2010 05:54:06 PM
Hey guys!
I've been very MIA lately. School has been very time consuming and I haven't had much time for projects. About a week ago, I was feeling very unmotivated, so I pulled out an old, unfinished painting to get some of my frustrations out. I actually finished it, and "Woman King" was born. I was REALLY inspired by Sylvia Ji this time around (she's amazing!!). The name Woman King comes from the song of the same name by Iron and Wine.

Finished:

C&C very welcome
17  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / The Squirrel Family Tree House... in a cabinet! on: July 29, 2010 03:17:36 PM
I made this cabinet for .. in the Woodland Creature swap. It was largely inspired by Spooky Pooky's cryptid cabinets. The cabinet is from value village, which I sanded to give an antique look. I used sculpey clay for the squirrels, dishes and door and paper for the tables, chairs and grandfather clock. The foliage is made from fake vines and other plants, the grass is dried moss, and the bark is from my moms front garden Cheesy haha. Comments and criticisms much appreciated!

18  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Treasure Island Charm Bracelet on: June 10, 2010 09:22:15 PM
For the loaded charm bracelet swap rd. 2, I made my partner a Treasure Island themed bracelet. I used lost of white and grey pearls, along with shell and white cracked glass. The charms were a compas, a sea bird, a picture of a parrot, I big jewel, a treasure chest, a bottle filled with glass and shells, a locket, a picture frame, a treasure map that says "property of Davy Jones" on the back, and a pirate ship. The clasp was a lock and key. I like the way it turned out and I think I'll have to make myself one in the future! C&C welcome!

19  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Magic forest loaded charm bracelet on: April 29, 2010 12:30:30 AM
After seeing all the amazing loaded charm bracelets in the first LCB swap, I had to make my own! It went pretty well for my first try, although the split rings I used were torture, and I ended up scrapping the first piece of chain I was going to use (it was too small). I like the way it looks, but next time I want to add more beads. C & C appreciated!

In action!

Just for fun, a little bracelet I made with some of the same beads.

Thanks for looking!
20  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / New Tree of Life Pendants on: April 29, 2010 12:23:47 AM
I had to try the tree of life pendant out for myself. It was actually really easy and, dare I say, fun to make!
My versions were inspired (or, well, copied) from pheonixfiredesigns. Her jewellery is amazing!

Pictures just don't do the next one justice! The irridescence of the beads is hard to capture.
