I'd be willing. I don't tend to get *overly* impatient when waiting on a swap partner.

I would love to be your swap partner!! Cheesy

Hey everyone! I would love to participate in this swap but I have a conundrum... I'm on call 24-7 with my job (I'm a wildlife biologist for a company that cleans up oil field related spills) and usually the summer is the busy season for us. So if I get called to work, I have to leave on very short notice and can be away for up to 3 weeks working 12-14 hour days. Usually the summer is the busy field season for us, but with the economy the way it is in Canada, the field may end up being slow. Also, there is usually a lot of down time in the field so I should have lots of time for crafting. I just wouldn't be able to get to a post office until days off.

SO my question is.. would anyone be willing to partner with me, with the stipulation that if I suddenly get called to work I won't be able to send for a maximum of 3 weeks? I would be absolutely tickled Grin I would also be willing to send internationally!

Eeeee I'm so tempted to join in this swap but I'm worried as soon as I do I'll get called out to work Huh Shocked I did a book themed swap a few years ago and it was SO much fun. Hmmm....
27  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Upcycled Sweater Mittens on: May 09, 2016 08:20:44 AM
I think these are gorgeous!  Now is the time for me to make them for next fall's dogwalking gigs, as sweaters will be super cheap at the thrift stores at this point. I wear braces on both hands now when I walk the pups so cannot fit gloves over them. This sweater idea of your will be perfect, since I can make them the correct size to fit over it all.

thanks for posting!!!

Thanks blu Smiley I never even thought about sweaters being super cheap at thrift stores now! Good luck with your mitten making Cheesy

30  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Re: Calypso bulbosa on: April 07, 2016 11:36:26 AM
Thanks for the feedback Patraw and pottermouth Smiley

Patraw the absence of detail throughout most of the piece, save for the figure, was actually my intended effect. I want my painting to instill more of an emotional response, and have the viewer get lost in their own imagination. I didn't want to tell the story of the figure, per se, but have the viewer create their own. With that being said, the quote by Paulo Coelho and the name of the painting (Calypso bulbosa) elude to the fact that both flowers and people are beautiful and fragile, and neither should be possessed Smiley hopefully I have achieved the desired effect for both of you!
