My partner in the I Want to Live in the Burrow Swap requested a new pincushion in her questionnaire. She also has oodles of teacup pincushions with little houses on top pinned in Pinterest... so in a (self proclaimed) stroke of genius, I thought hey!! There's no reason I couldn't make a miniature Burrow and put it on top of a pincushion, right? Right??
As per usual, this proved much more difficult than I anticipated... lol..
Firstly, I used this great teacup pincushion tutorial
to create my base.
I then created a miniature Burrow using Sculpey Clay, acrylic paint, and polymer clay glaze. The sculpting was the difficult part; I probably attempted a dozen mini Burrows before I made one that was acceptable.
After my Burrow was complete, I hot glued it to the pincushion along with dried moss and mini mushrooms from Micheal's. I used Jacquard Textile Colour to paint the cobble paths.
Now for the exciting part, pictures!!!
(if you look closely I've even painted a door for the small magical creatures who inhabit the Burrow knowingly and unknowingly) ;P
Sadly, the teacup broke in transit, but that can be easily replaced! Overall, I was super excited for how this turned out and for my partner to receive! As I said with my Marauder's Map Mug Rug
I may have to make one for myself in the future! Eventually...
