1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Stranger Things on: November 29, 2016 06:01:22 PM
I haven't forgotten! Once I am done with all of my current swaps I will plan this out. Please feel free to post questions you would like to see on the questionnaire! I haven't done this before and would like to have a GREAT questionnaire!

Yay!!! Hmmm questions...
- Who's your favorite character (pretty much a given).
- Favorite episode?
- Favorite movie/horror culture reference? (ex. nods to Spielburg, King, etc.)
- Do you prefer practical gifts/things you can use or ornaments/decorations/etc.?
- What kinds of crafts do you like to make? What would you like to receive? (more specific to the medium rather than the item)

You can look at other questionnaires too for standard things.

I decided to sit this one out because I have a feeling I'll be sent out to work in the field soon Cry

However if anyone wants to do a personal OTT October themed swap send me a PM! Meanwhile I'll be stalking the gallery Tongue

Excellent! What does everyone think is the appropriate size? Just a medium? A medium and a small? I've never hosted; but I'd be willing to try and host this one...if no one else wants to do it.  Grin

I will take a look at the calendar to come up with an appropriate (any suggestions welcome!) and will post here when I have posted the swap. Unless someone else wants to take this on.  Wink

I'd be up for a med+small swap!

8  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: Marauder's Map Mug Rug on: July 31, 2016 07:17:40 PM
What a find that fabric was. It's perfect! And I can't believe you painted that quote. Great job! Your partner will love it for sure!
curiousfae, I know right! I couldn't believe my luck. Thank you Cheesy

Wonderful mug rug. Your calligraphy is outstanding.
Thanks very much elderflower!

I am super impressed with your painting on fabric. I always have a really hard time getting fabric to apply smoothly even with fabric medium. Your lettering is also amazing on both pieces. I love the mug and the rug <3
Thank you PerfectlyBohemian! It was a challenge, I really like the Jacquard fabric ink I have though because it has more of a watery consistency. It's much easier to work with.
9  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Re: "The Burrow" Teacup Pincushion on: July 31, 2016 07:12:19 PM

10  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / "The Burrow" Teacup Pincushion on: July 30, 2016 12:04:53 PM

My partner in the I Want to Live in the Burrow Swap requested a new pincushion in her questionnaire. She also has oodles of teacup pincushions with little houses on top pinned in Pinterest... so in a (self proclaimed) stroke of genius, I thought hey!! There's no reason I couldn't make a miniature Burrow and put it on top of a pincushion, right? Right??

As per usual, this proved much more difficult than I anticipated... lol..

Firstly, I used this great teacup pincushion tutorial to create my base.

I then created a miniature Burrow using Sculpey Clay, acrylic paint, and polymer clay glaze. The sculpting was the difficult part; I probably attempted a dozen mini Burrows before I made one that was acceptable.

After my Burrow was complete, I hot glued it to the pincushion along with dried moss and mini mushrooms from Micheal's. I used Jacquard Textile Colour to paint the cobble paths.

Now for the exciting part, pictures!!!

(if you look closely I've even painted a door for the small magical creatures who inhabit the Burrow knowingly and unknowingly) ;P

Closeup Back

Sadly, the teacup broke in transit, but that can be easily replaced! Overall, I was super excited for how this turned out and for my partner to receive! As I said with my Marauder's Map Mug Rug I may have to make one for myself in the future! Eventually...

C&C Welcome Cheesy
