82  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Coin purse on: December 31, 2013 01:41:10 AM
I spent a couple of hours crocheting this little change purse yesterday.  I do have a red crystal to sew in the centre but haven't gotten around to it yet.  It will get sewn on later today if I feel like it.  The purse body is made from ring pulls from canned drinks, the lining is made from a piece of black fabric that I cut off a dress last year when I shortened it.

83  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Re: Mid-Century Mod Christmas Pillow on: December 29, 2013 12:59:59 AM
That is so lovely.  I would treasure it forever if someone took the time to make me something like this.
84  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Re: My DIY Seashell Bouquets on: December 26, 2013 07:43:43 AM
What a lovely and personal bouquet.  I bet it would be wonderful at a beach wedding too. The little charms are a lovely way of including those who have gone on ahead.

That is a great idea.  I love the little play on words too.  I bet it brought a few smiles.

Congratulations to you all.  It looks like an amazing occasion and you do look stunning.  Love the flowers etc,  I bet you had fun sourcing it all.
87  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Box of Sunshine Swap on: December 22, 2013 11:19:47 AM
I am very new here but would love to take part if i am allowed.  And as it is a box of sunshine I would love it to be yellow.  I can think of nothing nicer than receiving a box of bright and cheerful yellow in the middle of winter. Maybe if I can offer a suggestion, Valentines could be   a 'Rosy Glow' kind of swap.

What a beautiful selection of Christmas tree's.  We too have a number of Nativities dotted about the house as a gentle reminder of the reason for the season. I am currently enjoying this on You Tube.  It moves me to tears each time I see it.        Merry Christmas to everyone no matter how you celebrate.   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Zh-yR0pbmU
89  Category Challenges / Reusing/Recycling/Recrafting: Challenge Entries / Re: Christmas RRR challenge - Beer Can Widget Ornaments on: December 20, 2013 08:16:41 AM
I give talks and demonstrations so keep a couple of each thing that I make to add to my display.  When I do a session in school I simply leave the one I have made as an example with them.  I know what you mean about making things that will end up in the rubbish but I figure that everything will end up there one day and if we can reduce the amount we create in the first place by reusing then we are at least part way there.  Besides which, as a mum I know that most mums have a box full of the things that their kids made tucked away in the attic  :-)
