1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: First bag in a long time on: January 12, 2016 06:09:51 PM
I love it!  I love the style, the fabric...and I think the darts were a great idea.

Thank you Smiley I'm happy I did the darts, I like it way more. I might use it to store my knitting projects for my knitting group Smiley

Cute bag. I like how you used many different fabrics.

Thank you Smiley I found the bundle of fabrics from Wal-Mart when I stopped in there to grab some pins. It was too cute to pass up. I want to say it was 5$ for 5 fat quarters 18inx22in; so just shy of a fat quarter. A deal in my book if you ask me. The brand is Emma & Mila.

Over the past few years I had stopped sewing because my handed down machine had broke & a lot was going on in my life so I put sewing off. (took up look knitting for a while).

Well for christmas with the help of my mom & her fiance -- I got a new machine Cheesy And I've been going away at a few things. I have my first quilt start but I've also made a few bags.

Today I finished this one. It's pretty simple, wonky, and a mess but I like it, lol.

It was actually finished last night but this morning I decided I really didn't like how wide it was so I darted around the handles to make it a bit smaller at the opening. I gotta say that I'm pretty pleased with myself. I would have finished it quicker if I didnt have Making a Murderer on in the background, haha.

Really clever and i LOVE the fabrics you used -- especially the red (or might be pink, can't tell)
I want to make my mom a cover for her iPad for xmas this year -- i thought about just a pocket slip type of cover -- but she i soooo picky about things, that I think something like this would be awesome Cheesy

I'm pretty jealous of that -- I can't find a laptop bag for my 17' at all :/ I guess I just might break down and make one Cheesy

I was googling what to do with some old tshirts; and I cam across this ( http://www.sustainlane.com/reviews/how-to-make-recycled-t-shirt-tote-bag/USCQTVLAWOW98XCSKVFK128OMO3A ) -- and i thought that was perfect Smiley I did only one thing different, i wanted the bottom to bunch up (which was my first time attempting this) which I think went pretty well Cheesy

I used one of my favorite shirts my little brother grew out of Sad I didn't want to see it go ( plus i did happen to buy it for him.lol)

The not so great "action" shot -- i just happen to have a few boxes of crackers in my room to test it. lol
8  COOKING / Dessert / Re: 3 ingredient Pumpkin Spice cake on: September 25, 2011 03:31:20 PM
I've been making this version for about 4 years now -- i make it all year long c: but I don't like to add nuts because i'm not a fan of nuts in food, but i like them by themselves. lol Cheesy
9  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Re: 2011 Costume-Along on: September 22, 2011 07:25:00 AM
I have decided to go as R2D2. I have an earflap hat that I plan to modify for the top part, and I'm making a simple white dress for the bottom. It's going to be a strapless dress with a circle skirt- because that's all I can make, and what looks good on me, those boxy dresses or tight fitting don't fit me well.
Unfortunately I don't have any friends to complete the Star Wars theme with!
For the dress i was thinking something like this- simple, strapless with a circle skirt-
(image was here ...)
OR
something like this:

with metallic leggings.
I think the more tight fitting one would work better, but a simple strapless dress with a circle skirt would be more flattering....

I think the circle skirt would cute -- but that's just me Smiley

I'm going to go as a girly Darth Vader and sadly I have no one else to do the star wars theme with me either D:
But I'm going to do a circle skirt; its so simple to make and I have about 3 costumes to make before halloween -_-

My sister wants to go as Sam Flynn from Tron Legacy, So I'm trying to figure out the best way to do it. I saw at walmart a "light up body suit" costume, for 30$ ... which I can't really see paying for it plus it looked crappy :X but she really wants it -- but after looking up sam flynn, that wont work so I keep trying to tell her this.
