191  Re: Buy Nothing Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by susanab on: November 14, 2007 04:49:07 PM
Some jewels for the gallery made by rondas for me!!

Minus one pair of earrings  because my daughter -- who does look great in them Undecided --needs to keep them in for the Project Runway season opener...here is a picture of everything together. The piece that's coiled here is magnetic hematite, black onyx, crystal quartz, and black cloisonne enamel beads. I've never owned anything like this--you can use it a million, bazillion ways:

thankfully rondas really knows what she's talking about when it comes to jewelry. The black onyx pendant and it's matching set of earrings is on you-know-who.

upclose--how fantastic is this unmatched black/white pair!! I just love these. These rubber ducks are made of glass --cool, right?!

Having only one kid, I thought with all these great things, I'm probably pretty safe right now. But then I took another look...

Thanks again so much, rondas. You awed me!

192  Re: Weekend Swap 5: Gallery of Small Things! in The Swap Gallery by susanab on: November 10, 2007 10:16:18 AM
i received a VERY cool small thing from homerof2! it's a MORSE CODE necklace.  i just opened it--so it still needs to be solved, but each black bead is a dot and white is a dash. 1 red bead between each part of a letter, 4 red beads between each letter, 3 silver beads between each word. Guess what I'll be doing this weekend Grin  It's esp nice cause I think it's time to take a break from swaps for me--but I promise I'll post the 6 word solution asap...!!!

194  Re: Tea Time Swap 2 Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by susanab on: November 05, 2007 02:45:27 PM
grey_pearl received from me & has given the ok for me to post pics.

i found the perfect fabric for a tea wallet. i also used it to make a patchy fabric coaster cause tea time is special time. lady earl grey is grey_pearl's fave:

i found a silver tea kettle key chain at a fair trade coffee/tea store in my neighborhood. got tea? plus two other buttons that i made.

this is a tea bag doll sachet...cause if you love tea as much as we do, we welcome it into that personals drawer. ok. maybe. also for an ornament. but, really, does smell yummy.

I received from grey_pearl! It was the most aromatic envelope I've ever opened...here's why:

isn't that a great instant collection? in the foreground is a tea wallet that she made.

She also gave me some artsy tea things--a pair of buttons (i really like the heart one!), stamped papers, stickers...very pretty:

And a beaded necklace with two tea charms and a tea cell phone charm which is lovely:

thank you so much, grey_pearl. I'm so glad we were able to do this!

MEshelltakeone also received from me--of course it feels totally unbalanced to me with everything (above) that she made. But it is the best stuffie that I made so far and I'm happy it's home (yet still in my time zone!)

i also received!!! MEshelltakeone totally wisted me out and I'm so excited to share the pix... Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy
methinks she's in the holiday spirit...here's the envelope and some totally yum Smarties:

staying in the spirit--wait til you see this!--a clutch purse made from a Hershey's bag...

it has a magnetic closure that's totally nifty and, this was a way big surprise to me, FABRIC LINING and she sewed it GORGEOUSLY. My camera doesn't do closeups that great.

I don't know how many hours are in her weekend because there's MORE. This uberfabulous fashion scarf with robin blue fleece on one side and totally cheery polka dots and stars on the other side, modeled here by my daughter...

AND I have been dropping for this ever since I saw it online--because I work in the game industry (board games, that type)...

so far this is the best my camera can do but the metal work holding it all in is so great. my daughter's bummed that this is one thing she CANT have.
I am so honored with these crafts and lovelies. Thank you!

198  Re: Another Halloween Weekend Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by susanab on: October 18, 2007 07:13:15 PM
xladyluckx also received from me today. she's got a full night of organizing and crafting so these are pix that I took.
we actually gave each other halloween cats...this is the one i made her but the bad news was that I forgot to put WHISKERS on her Sad Sad That makes me crazy.

Plus I made her a fabric Halloween coaster to use with her favorite brew and Good Witch, Bad Witch buttons to wear depending on her mood or the impression she wants to give:

I also put in some candy treats to kick off her Trick or Treat loot bag.

199  !!!! in The Swap Gallery by susanab on: October 18, 2007 04:11:32 PM
my swap partner's name might be xladyluckx--but I was the lucky one today!!!

Underneath fabulous layers of skull-filled and black and white striped tissue paper was THIS amazing pillow:

I have to say that I wish you could FEEL it because it's just the yummiest wool I've ever felt. I can't stop looking at this. xladyluckx--WOW-- everything about this is amazing. The design and the colors. I am SO LUCKY!

And to make sure that I get started on decorating she gave me punkin window clings and --these are so fun -- skull pencils. Good for writing BAAAAAD checks!

I was so lucky to have her and thanks again sundayafternoonhousewife for hosting. It was total fun.

200  eeeep!!! in The Swap Gallery by susanab on: September 24, 2007 05:14:25 PM
i received from annacharlotte today and this is just the most amazing pincushion EVER! it is so beautifully detailed and i'm real sorry that these pix don't do this home sweet home justice at all!!

this is what it looks like as you walk up the lane towards it. hey, there's a cat to greet you! and a watering can if the roses look like they need a drink...

if you decide to pat the kitty before you go in, well, this is what that side looks like. that cat has some loooong tail. reaches right up to the window pane.

it's autumn and nothing's nicer than seeing the trees change and watching the leaves fall. you can do that at my house. take a stroll around the back!

a pincushion? yep...but so much more!!!
thank you so much, annacharlotte. i love this.
