Hope you like it ale, I forgot to mention the shapes are made from the words to the Hogwarts school song.. well, part of it. It's kind of long. And the border is the school motto.

Here's the adorable tote bag I received from Ale!

It's sturdy and big and has lovely details.

I received weeks ago but I suffer from a craftster curse that floods my life with stuff as soon as I sign up. I'm kind of a terrible partner, but I did enjoy this swap! Thank you so much ale!!

Wow those eyes are cool!

My partner hasn't had time to post pics, so here are some of the african flower purse I crocheted her:

The handle is a little kooky but attached them to D rings so she can trade them out if she wants.

Had a blast making this Smiley

Here's what I received Saturday from adrienne_bowers!

Another shot of the lovely felt tree. I LOVE the colors and the beads are placed so perfectly!

She also sent a vintage hoop (never seen a non wooden one!) and some pretty yarn and handy crochet patterns that are like cards.
Sorry I didn't post sooner, my camera is tiny and disappears very easily.

 Thanks so much for everything!
Now I just need to figure out how to hang hoops..

4  Re: Make-a-Friend Round 7 -- Summer 2011 Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by raennn on: July 13, 2011 09:10:52 AM
Ok I couldn't find my camera after the move so I am going to post package 1 with package 2. Najaorama put each item in a separate numbered envelope but because my stupid postman left my package at the wrong door, under a gutter over night after a storm, they were soaking. Fortunately the goodies all survived mostly unscathed, it has been really hard to not use them until I had pics posted!

She sent me butterfly bobby pins for something w/ fave animal (in lieu of dragonflies), passion tea because it has fave color on it (which I have always used to make iced tea btw), chinese jasmine soap for something with fave smell (could not love more), paper origami cranes for something made with paper, but I have no idea where they flew off to, a vintage wooden spool (related to thread), something sentimental- wedding favor prayer flags (brilliant idea!!), vintage postcards (she collects), spiced hot cocoa for something drinkable- something I've always wanted to try too, bookmark for something related to reading, and a collapsible funnel for kitchen.. we needed this, we use old breastpump cones lol.
She also included a little raw silk, and iron on typewriter and bubbles! She and I have such similar taste, I love picking your own partner!
Next is package 2 which I really really love.

First, she gave me 5 rolls of cotton yarn (which is my favorite to crochet with btw) in jewel tones. I love it! I have some of the colors already.
Then the smalls: I wear headbands every single day because I can't stand hair in my face and I love color. So she sent me all these perfect fitting reversible headbands!! I always meant to make some for myself but hate working with elastic in casings, she just put a thick length of elastic though, it's genius!
The medium item is a crochet hook clutch made with some nifty vintage newspaper she appears to have turned into fabric.I love it! I've really needed one.

I love that the front says "Wanted, steady woman".
Thanks so much naja, I think I will be begging you for personal swaps for years to come.

5  Re: Fabric Lover Scavenger Hunt Gallery in The Swap Gallery by raennn on: May 13, 2011 10:30:40 AM
I received from stacysews Monday after a horrid final!

She sent me a 'lucky' pin cushion with nifty pins for something 'sharp', a fabric basket with sunflowers for local because she's in Kansas (containing some local candy coated sunflower seeds!), a zippered pouch covered in money for M which the man has already claimed for keeping his toiletries in (he loves novelty fabric), and adorable soft owl flannel for something cozy! She also sent me a scrap of pretty asiany satin.

Close up of pincushion- this is actually my first pin cushion I think, when I used to sew a lot I used one of those magnetic hearts.

And close up of fabric.. she gave me more than a yard so I could make some pj bottoms or something. Pretty spot on, considering I already have 2 pairs of owl pants that I wear almost every day!
Thanks so much Stacy, I love my package Smiley .

6  Re: Magic Yarn Ball Round 14 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by raennn on: December 05, 2010 02:53:39 PM
I received the day before thanksgiving, what a treat! But due to a family plague things have been too hectic too post. Til now!

Unraveling was SO much fun, it was fingering weight yarn for the first ball and took forever! We ended up putting it in a basket and my husband unraveled while I wound. It looked like a fish flopping around in the basket, especially with the big beads that looked like eyeballs!

She sent a lot of stuff, mostly handmade! Here's the bulk:

There are shrinkydink stitch markers, different kbeads, two lovely jingly bracelets and some matching earrings, two sugar skull keychains, pop rocks and a pez-like candy skull thing. Also some laminated bookmarks and coasters with drinks and desserts on them like you find in a restaurant.

Also an adorable owl plushie for my son:

and a tea wallet:

The big gift was what I thought was a hat for my son, and when I told her how he's been wearing it everywhere and it fits perfectly, she was like "What hat? I didn't make a hat!" Turns out it was supposed to be a monster toilet paper topper from my wist! LOL But see for yourself, it's adorable as a hat too!

Not sure why the images using the photobucket widget are small.. :/
She sent the things I REALLY wanted even though I gave her a lot of ideas (I think) so I am super pleased. I couldn't be happier Rosie, thanks so much!!

7  Re: Yarnies Vs Sewists R2 Gallery Sendouts Changed to September 3 in The Swap Gallery by raennn on: October 02, 2010 10:29:34 AM
So I'm FINALLY posting what Lollipop sent me (and she even sent on the original sendout date!)
What I really needed was a nursing shirt, but I thought that would be too much work for this swap, however I went ahead and mentioned it when she said she was a fashion design student, and look what I got:

It's sooooo comfy. Forgive the unflattering angle, I don't know why men are too lazy to stand up while taking a photo.
She also totally surprised me with some overalls for my son (he's only 6 months so he's got a while before they fit, but he's pretty big so not too long lol)

I LOVE the fabric and the little googly eyed buttons!!!!!!!!!!!!
And something I really wish I'd had when he was 0-2 months, because he'd pee at almost every changing:

peepee teepees! and a little bag to hold them

THank you SO much Keri, this has been a great swap and I'm sorry I took so long! Hope you get your package soon! Cheesy
Oh and this gallery is awesome, I'm wisting so many things.

8  Re: Make me a Hat round 2. Sendouts Aug 16 in The Swap Gallery by raennn on: August 22, 2010 09:39:24 PM
I received a snuggly hat and fingerless glove set from edenkitty:

It's got a neat cable on each side and a really cool twist thing on top like a circus tent.

My first ever such gloves, I hadn't even heard of them in Texas until I started knitting, but they're great in Colorado.

The hat fits great! It looks a lot better centered. (Excuse the baby, he would not let me put him down.)
Thanks so much eden!

9  Re: Birds Birds Birds r2 Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by raennn on: May 28, 2010 05:12:27 PM
I received from Craftylittlemonkey today and I can't imagine a better package! I think she must have invaded my subconscious for what I'd find ideal.
Here's everything together:

She made a pillowcase, an embroidered bird hanging, a little travel kleenex cozy, a set of lovely bird cards, and an applique. Also included: 3 adorable books, a sketchbook, some little birdy stickers, a cute comic, a super cool book of cardboard animals, and a nifty article that shows how to make birds out of crepe paper!

A close up of the bird hanging. I had wisted a neat owl hanging she'd done in the past, so I love this. Especially the colors.

I love the books, I've been trying to grab a unique variety of used books the newborn, so books are super exciting to me now. I can't wait to read the Fletcher one!
Finally,I was already blown away when I saw this, the most gorgeous pillowcase ever, in my favorite colors:

The black is velvety and the rest is shimmery.

I could go on and on about how perfectly suited everything is to me but I'll stop, thank you so much Crafty for a wonderful first swap!
