11  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: International Snack Swap 6 (Signup Jan 14th- Feb 10th Sendout Mar 21th) on: February 26, 2013 02:17:53 PM
Just got a few more things today! Now I only have three more items to get, and the craft to make!

Oddly enough, the three things I have left to buy were the three things I thought of first! I've been having fun going to local food stores and different shops to find local vegan snacks. (Everytime I go in I end up doing a "One for you  - annnnnd, one for me")

I just found the perfect store yesterday full of local organic (and loads of vegan) foods for my partner. Picked out a few things for her, and a few things for me. awww yeah.

We have Cadbury stuff, but not nearly as much as is available elsewhere. Really, only the cream eggs year-round and then the little chocolate eggs at Easter (I wait ALL YEAR for those!). The British store has all kinds of them. My favorite so far is the Flake, I love the texture.

I've never heard of Ketchup or All Dressed chips before, or Jos Louis, or Oh Henry, though Crispy Crunch sounds familiar. . . I'm not a snack expert though, so some of that may be available in the U.S. for all I know.

That's what this swap is all about, I guess! My luck, though, I'll get addicted to something and never be able to get it again  Sad

P.S. I found this when I looked up All Dresses chips haha:

BAHAHAHA. Oh man though - All Dressed are the best flavour! Poor non-Canadians.

The one that I think would be hard would be Canada to US.  All I can think of there is Coffee Crisp......Aero??...Kit Kat??  I don't know.  There must be a site somewhere that should tell you what other countries don't have, but I do have a couple of ideas of my fave snacks that are local.

I'm having this problem while I've been trying to pre-plan! I've got a little list of things that I can get here and I know I can't get in the States. I'm hoping I get a country that's a little farther away so it'll be easier, but I'm willing to bet there are enough Americans signing up that all us non-us people might get paired up with the States. If that's the case for me I'm really hoping for unique local items, because I only live about 15 minutes from the border anyway, Stateside shopping is a normal thing for me.

Oh well - I'm excited for anything though! Care/snack packages are great no matter what's inside them. Smiley

(Also I was told that Aero's were available in the States, am I wrong? Also YOU GUYS DON'T HAVE KIT KATS?)

What country is everyone from? I'm curious to know, and I don't want to wait until partners/the gallery to find out what the mix is looking like.

I'm from Canada!

Oh man! I would've loved that too! Now I'm wistful over what might have been. Good thing I love the Shaun of the Dead one too much to bear.

I made this for mezcraft in the wordy round hoopla. Most of the stitching was done during the Olympics so I thought it was a great time to stitch something to show my Canadian pride!

I'm not the most skilled stitcher in the world, but I'm pretty pleased with how this one turned out anyway.

For you non-Canucks out there, "Our home and native land" is a line from the Canadian national anthem, O' Canada.

I had a lot of fun working on the design for this, and I learned a lot about some new stitches.

I received this badboy in the mail this morning. I saw the postman drop it off as I pulled out of the drive-way on the way to work. Painfully - I was running late so I had to leave it there to wait until I got home.

WORTH THE WAIT.

One of my favourite movies of all time from one of my favourite duo's (trio if you count Edgar Wright - which I do) of all time.

Shaun of the Dead!

Look at that mad skill in the portraiture! Wow.

It's so so so perfectly me, and I love it more than words can express.

THANK YOU MEZCRAFT!

Funk Yeah!
