1  CROCHET / Crochetalongs / Re: Scrap yarn blanket on: July 10, 2008 01:35:02 PM
Finished! I actually did another blanket that I just need to put a border on and it's done

Sorry the picture is so dark. The only other shot I got of it washed out the color, so I figured this one was better. As you can see the middle is all wonky and uneven, but I blame that on it being my first real project. And I was just trying to get rid of yarn, so it's no real loss.  Smiley

And I also made a tiny baby blanket, which I think turned out much much better.

Complete with pug to show size Wink
I thought it was too small, but my mom says it's fine for a baby. And again, just trying to use yarn.

Big improvement from first to second, eh?  Cheesy

Wow all of these are awesome! I absolutely love the hexagon ones. Beautiful!

I've never really crocheted before, but I went through a time where I was apparently reeeeally into lionbrand's homespun yarn and I now have tons of skeins all over the place, and decided to give an afghan a try. I watched a youtube video showing how to make a granny square, and have just been making one giant one. It's thick yarn so it's been going pretty quickly. But after seeing all of these, I've decided that I need to actually learn how to crochet! Beautiful!

AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME!  I have a thing with lobsters, and was giving my friends some lobster themed things for the holidays, and this is beyond amazing! And we're all poor college kids so we can get away with giving eachother gifts late.  Tongue

It's just so cute.  Cheesy

I'm finally getting off my ass and posting my pictures. My dreads are about two months old now.  Grin

This is them right after they were finished:

And this is them now:

They're a little wet in this pictures, because I just got out of the water. They're a wee bit fuzzy, but coming along nicely! I love them.  Cheesy

It's adorable!
I'm a little confused about how you did it, too. Explain, because it looks awesome!

I was trying to make my part staggered, but there were really only two dreads on each side of it. hahaha Grin and that's also what made the wonky shaped sections. They're oblong and...wouldn't be good.
I think I'm going to try 1 inch sections, and put my mom to work  Wink

Thanks for the help!

Hey everybody!
I'm going to start dreading my hair tomorrow, but I have a question before I begin....
I already sectioned my hair, and i did it in about 1.5 inch sections. But when I finished, there were only 17 sections. And that seems like way too few.
I know I want them thick, but is 1.5 inch sections too thick?
I think I might have to re-section it anyway because the top is all wonky looking and not even close to being squares.   Tongue
