can I just ask what the measurements are for your strips? I'm working on a magazine tote at the moment but im finding my strips a bit too small and im having difficulties finding a nice medium... yours looks nice! I'm just not sure of the measurements.

About how many tabs did they take? I've been saving soda tabs for a while now and I have a few hundred. Are you going to use some kind of sealer on it to prevent it from rusting?
It took about 240 of them in total, around 120 for each side but it really depends on how big your cup is Tongue .. also they are made of aluminum so they shouldnt rust.  But I guess I'll find out this summer when I wear the prototype Tongue

What would I sew the lining to? Also I was thinking for bottoms, since you're very right it would be uncomfortable, maybe I could just make regular black ones and put a soda tab belt on them! that was its decorated similarly but not uncomfortably.

thanks guys! Its actually very comfortable! the tabs absorb the body heat and they get nice and warm, but i imagine if you wore it in the water it would get really cold.

The two ones i have there arent lined, I havent gotten around to that and i'm not sure how to go about lining it.. i'm thinking of just gluing a liner on it for now until I brainstorm a better idea, but I put toilette paper in between for now because the tabs can get pinchy, and I wouldnt want that! haha with a liner, I imagnie it would be a reallly nice fit.

The only thing is that with the second one it felt a bit too small, i thought my tata's were gonna fall out! :/ I wouldnt do any heavy duty swimming in these.

I just finished making this soda tab bikini top that I saw a picture of a couple of years back. I was so jealous that I finally decided to make one of my own (It was pretty difficult trying to figure out how I was going to do it though!) especially because I dont think there was a tutorial anywhere on the internet!
I hope this is in the right place.. but I do intend to actually use it this summer so I decided to put it in clothing!

Here's the outcome: I tried two different attempts, I like the shape of the first one most.
1st version:

2nd version:

I like the second one though because I made the center part (in between the two cups) easily adjustable.
