1  SEWING IN GENERAL / Machine Embroidery: Completed Projects / Re: Mardi Gras Mask on: March 04, 2013 06:40:58 AM
Thats awesome! God bless hubby for getting that machine.  Can you put custom designs on it any way?
2  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Janome jf1004 on: March 02, 2013 02:07:52 PM
Does anyone know anything about this model of Janome machines? I've had this machine for about 9 months and have been using it for about two.  I've looked for a manual online, reviews or other information on this particular model and can't find anything! Its as if it never existed.  Perhaps someone has this machine, or knows about it?
3  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Sort of DIY..! Open bar? on: December 14, 2011 06:09:07 PM
So I've been dabbling with the open bar aspect of a wedding, to be honest I dont really want one at my wedding (many recovering alcoholics in my family, mainly my dad) but my fiances side of the family like to celebrate by drinking (opposite to my side!) so I only feel its fair if I include at least alcoholic beverages at my wedding..

Has anyone ever done their own open bar? As in hired a friend to be the barmaid and gotten the alcohol yourself along with a license, etc.  I figured I could open the bar for free drinks (beer and wine, fruity drinks will always cost money) for an hour, and the rest of the night charge for drinks..

Is it worth it to do your own bar? With the expenses of the alcohol, the licence, the posibility of paying said friend, etc? (Or said friend could keep the tips she makes as a payment.. just some idea)

I found this the other day too: Soda/beer can ashtray! I've made a few since then and theyre pretty nifty. If you google it you can find a whole bunch of tutorials.. I'd post one but they're all sort of different in their own way so I thought I'd just lead you to the source and have you choose the best fitting one for yourself.

7  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Rings from soda cans on: February 07, 2010 03:47:49 PM
I made some rings the other day out of soda cans, and paperclips, and beads.

8  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: My first pop tab bag (with pics) on: February 06, 2010 10:21:36 AM
this is beautiful! I'm so obsessed with pop tab stuff, i have over 500 pop tabs waiting to be crafted Tongue
if some of you guys are as impatient as i am or dont drink soda.. ever, you can buy sometimes 5000 tabs off of ebay for a very small price! Its totally worth it I think.
9  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: Used 8 1/2 x 11 white paper from our admin office - what to do with it? on: February 06, 2010 10:17:08 AM
Where i'm working they reuse their paper by cutting them into small squares, line up one edge of the pack of papers and make sure its perfectly straight, and then they run a line of contact cement on the edge so that the papers are stuck together and voila! you have your own notebook with easy rip off papers.. I dnt know if this is good explanation but i tried.

Can we brainstorm to come up with a bunch of different crafts for cans?? I know most people just bring them to the recycling but I've made and seen some pretty cute things from cans! some of them are so cute that I'm wondering what else we can come up with!! I'll post some ideas as I find them
