Has anyone tried painting origami paper (specifically with watercolors)? I'd also be open to another kind of paper that is thicker than origami paper but no thicker than a thin cardstock). I can't seem to find the origami paper that I want and would like to add my own colors.
I'm trying to experiment with paper to make a kusudama. http://foldingtrees.com/2008/11/kusudama-attack-part-1/
. I've already used origami paper and magazines paper; I've also thought about using scrapbook paper. The origami paper is light but I don't know how sturdy it will be in the long run; and magazines are very colorful but you never get the same thing twice and cannot customize any patterns (it's sturdy, though); scrapbook paper is nice and comes in a lot of colors and patters but can be a bit expensive (plus I'm not sure if it can be painted).
Any ideas would be appreciated =)
