1  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Tips for Participating in Craft Fairs / Re: How do I go about SIGNING UP for craft fairs? on: May 02, 2012 07:17:55 PM
Contact the organizations that organize the craft fairs or, if you know other crafters in your area, call them and see how they get in. if there are any mom and pop craft stores in your area, talk to them as well. Another option is to go to the craft fairs and ask the vendors. You'll be networking and gaining info at the same time.
2  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Re: Barn Owl Pyrography on: April 18, 2012 07:06:57 PM
Stunning! I just bought a versa tip and used it for the first time tonight. I used the tip that was already on it and the results were pretty cool. I've never done any kind of woodworking before and I was pretty impressed by it. I didn't have any problems until I tried to take the tip off. I cannot, for the life of me, figure out how to take it off! I tried one of those non slip grip lid openers to no avail. Over top of that so I wouldn't damage it, I used needle nose pliers. Still nothing. How did you change out your tips?  Huh

Thanks!

To "Failure" - I can totally relate. Now stop doing things to impress others and start aiming higher for you. Otherwise, that empty hole will never go away. You can't change others but you can always change yourself. (This took me a really long time to figure out) Go find something positive that fulfills you.

♥ I have every confidence in you ♥

p.s. - I know this sounds corny and cliche, but volunteering makes me feel better and fulfilled. I don't need the recognition of others because I know that I'm doing a good thing and it's something that I like to do.

People Pleaser: I used to be that way, too. I took some leadership classes (I was so scared to go!) and they really started helping me assert myself (way more than therapy did). One of the big things that I did learn was that "NO" is not a bad word. You can offer alternatives such as "I have a lot on my plate right now, but if things open up I'll help you" or "hey, that isn't my bag - why don't we do such and such instead/I'll hang with you when you're not doing that". Boundaries are healthy things and you'll get respect for it. Others might pitch a fit at first, but stick with it and they'll realize they can't walk all over you anymore. You'll respect and like yourself more, too. =D

p.s. - you can start with little things and build on it...you don't have to take the leap all at once!

@Eliea - How about displaying them differently? Have you tried one of the bracelet stands that they sell at craft stores? Something like http://www.amazon.com/T-Bar-Bracelet-Necklace-Display-Holders/dp/B002HIFNDW or http://tinyurl.com/4sabhqo
