1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Avengers Assemble! Gallery on: July 30, 2012 08:49:18 AM
Sorry if this post isn't super coherent! Cheesy

I came home from a month abroad to this wonderfultastic package from Alchamy513. I think I now know the true meaning of the word "squee," haha.

Closeup of Loki (my very first amigurumi! I still can't get over how adorable he is.)

His helmet comes off!

Awesome awesome gauntlets. Warm weather is dumb.

Fascinator that I was going to put on a headband, until...

...Loki stole it! Oh no! (incredibly derpy action shot, apologies Cheesy)

My little brother is incredibly jealous, I'll have to make sure I hide these from him haha.
Thank you sooooo much!

Thanks guys! Cheesy I had a ton of fun painting everything (although Cap's background color is a travesty...apparently there is no such thing as a red pastel!)

Also, everyone else's crafts are amazing! I fail at doing anything other than drawing, so these crocheted and embroidered and other crazy awesome things are seriously blowing my mind right now.

5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: A million questions and only a few weeks until prom...ahh! on: April 10, 2010 12:58:15 PM
Thanks for the advice, everyone! I'll probably have a bunch more questions when I start, but this is a great jumping-off point.

I'm going to buy the materials next weekend when I actually have time...I'm excited Smiley

Now that the hectic college application process is over, I have a bunch of no-longer-needed files clogging up my computer...so I figured that I might as well put some of them to good use Smiley Here's a few of the pieces I included in my portfolio:

My pride and joy (which still isn't officially finished, after two months of procrastinating):

aaaaand a quick random drawing....

Props to any of you who know who they are Wink

Thanks for looking!
9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / A million questions and only a few weeks until prom...ahh! on: April 08, 2010 03:18:44 PM
Hello, fellow denizens of Craftster! Smiley

So...prom is coming up in a few weeks. I was looking around on the Internet for a dress, when I came across this beauty, only to find that it would set me back about 400. DOLLARS. !!! [insert horror movie scream here]

I figured that I might be able to make a dress that looks similar to that, since I've had a bit of experience with sewing (t-shirt recons, Halloween costumes, the works). I have a couple yards of white chiffon lying around that I could use to make the dress, but I have a bunch of questions that (hopefully!) you guys might be able to answer?

- Is there any way to paint dye onto the chiffon? I've painted chiffon with acrylic before, but it's always ended up all wrinkly and stiff.
- Would it make sense to use this pattern? (silly question, I know, but...)
- I'm guessing that there's boning in the dress - is using boning hard for someone who's never used it before?

And most importantly...

- Is this even possible??  Tongue

Thanks Cheesy
10  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / Re: First CP soap! =) on: February 02, 2010 03:40:27 PM
Thanks everyone Smiley

I used an old cardboard box as a mold - you can kind of see it in the top of the first picture.
