1  UNITED STATES / Indiana / Craft Stores? on: February 20, 2008 09:36:09 PM
I wasn't sure where exactly to put this...

My family is going to Indianapolis come Feb 27th-March 2nd and was curious if anyone knows of any craft stores in that city? (Or anything interesting...but my main concern is craft stores...mainly fabrics)  We've never been, but I haven't had time to really fish around due to college....and was curious if anyone could help me out?!  Tongue

Thanks a lot!
2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / A Beatles Theme Bag on: January 11, 2008 10:11:30 PM
I'm actually happy with this one.  I didn't think it would turn out well...but I actually like it.  I got frustrated with it cause I made it a bit different than all my other bags...mainly cause I used a tote I bought from Hobby Lobby and just cut off the handles (too short, all in my armpits, ick.)

Here is a picture of it:

(I tried to post a full picture but it just made it sideways and fat XD)

Strawberries are deformed..was going to throw them out...but then I continued and I began to like it more. Cheesy
3  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / Pop-Up Valentine's? on: February 05, 2006 05:01:11 PM
Valentine's Day is around the corner as we all know.  My best friend - who I have a pretty bad crush on, doesn't eat chocolate.  (I don't either, we're both athletes and we stay away from sweets as much as possible.)  But I bought an extra box of chocolates (I always get a box a chocolate for each of my best friends..)...

I gave my brother the chocolates to eat and I cut out the stuff in the inside, that holds the chocolate together.  I left the wall up.  I made a spring from...dangit, I can't remember what it's called.  You may know what it is...it's thick wire that's a golden color.  But half of the floor was missing, so I cut out with red cardstock paper in a shape of a heart.  I put a little hole in the middle of it.  Rubber cemented the paper down with the coiled around the bottom part.

Then I cut out another heart and rubber cemented it to felt.  Cut around it.

Then I gave it eyes, yarn for hair, cut out some other colors of felt and put them all together to make this beautiful face:

Then, I took the top of the spring and put a piece of paper under and above a part of it.  Because rubber cement seems to stick better paper on paper than coil on paper.  So I did that like so:

And then I glued the face on the paper on the spring.  And tada!  Came out this ugly thing!

So you know, he and I are pretty close and we aren't very serious on most things.  I'm a bit nervous on showing him my true feelings for him.  Everyone says he likes me and stuff.  You know, typical highschool best friends stuff, whatever.  But I didn't want to be too serious on V-day.  Oh well.  This was a pretty stinky job of me writing this, sorry.  But if you have any questions I will try to help you!  Yeah, we're not normal >.<;

4  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / My Bedroom on: July 24, 2005 03:20:50 PM
It took me two weeks to do this (I have a busy schedule)  and this was more of a painting thing than anything (and patience) I guess this was the area to put my huge project in.

Okay, here it goes, I started with a grafitied white wall room.  I painted over it with a light green color, and then it dried for a day, and I started on a huge project...something I knew I shouldn't get into. You'll see: I equally taped squares all around my room (a pain in the butt).

Then I drew circles in cause I decided I wanted circles in them too, not just squares (I recommend you to draw circles then to put the tape on it.)  I decided to paint the circles in a dark green (the ones that don't intersect the squares, actually rectangles).

(This picture is side ways, I am lazy) I painted the rectangles a dark blue color

Then I colored in the light blue circles.

And here is the finished photo, after the tape peeling and putting all the furniture back...

It looks ugly and really busy.  But my friends seemed to like it so I decided to post it on here.  Hope you guys liked it.
5  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Rubberband necklace??? on: July 24, 2005 03:01:38 PM
I've been searching around the web for a quite awhile now.  I was at band camp over the week and I saw people with these bracelets and necklaces made from rubber bands.  No one knew how to make them.  So I was seeing if anyone knew how to make them.

That's what they look like.  But my friend (that's who it is) doesn't know how to make them.  One of her friend's made it for her.  Or something like that.  Does anyone happen to know how???

Thanks!
6  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Bottle Cap Buttons? on: June 02, 2005 05:53:14 PM

7  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Purse out of Disney Shirts? on: June 02, 2005 05:50:42 PM
I went to the mall the other day and bought three Disney kid shirts that were really cute.  Two have small images and one is pretty big.  So I was going to put the two small images on one side and the other side is going to have the big picture.  But what is the best way to create a purse out of shirts?  I've never made a purse before.   I do need help on this.  If any of you all have any tips or suggestions it will be greatly appreciated!
8  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Beatles and Penguin Calendars on: March 07, 2005 04:58:59 PM
I have two Beatles Calendars (both 12mos) with pictures.  I don't know what to do with them.  I want to make something using the pictures...but I have no idea what.  I would do a purse or whatever, but I'm not a purse person.  I don't know what to make with them?  I was thinking about maybe an aluminum trash can...and gluing it on there...but I don't know if that will even work.  Can some of you guys give me tips and/or ideas?  I love the Beatles and I'm trying to make my room a BEATLE-FIED room...also I have two Penguin Calendars that I want to make stuff with also.  So can you help?  I appreciate it.
