41  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Beginners inchies swap (SU 16th Dec 2010 - 15th Jan 2011 SO 16th Feb 2011) on: December 28, 2010 08:26:00 PM
Okay, so I sent in my questionnaire. I am freaked a little since I am an inchie virgin but I will try my hand at a few. Need a new challenge. Why not inchies?
42  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: Great gifts for oral fixation folks! Toothpicks with taste. on: December 28, 2010 06:03:11 AM
I did the lemon too since my son loves anything sour. The best, imo, although not usually a taste I enjoy was the anise. I hate licorice but in toothpick form it is yummy. I did see orange..hmmm. I think these will be made regularly. Did you love that intense smell in the house?

44  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Re: New Portable Sewing Kit from a Cigarette case! on: December 28, 2010 05:50:12 AM
I made travel kits like this for gifts. I included a bunch of other possible necessities and used gift card tins. Yours is super pretty.

He says..."Mom this is like a lollipop without ruining my teeth." LOL!!!

Too funny! I think that is why old men like them too. Grown up lollipops! So glad you are enjoying them. What flavor did you make?

I don't know if anyone made these for presents or not but everyone I made them for loved them. It was kind of strange that the reception was so good. My father in-law opened and shared his with everyone and my dad said little and stuck one in his mouth immediately. His wife then joined in and said they were going in the car glove box so when they go out for dinner they will be there since they always are looking for some. (Retirees eat out a lot.)

So when Father's day comes around make Dad some...he will actually use this gift! Smiley

Thank you so much sum1smuma.... you grasped my likes perfectly, and everything in this package is so useful and "me"! I had a lot of fun with this swap.
I had a blast too. I wondered if I had put a disclaimer about the travel tin, so I am glad you knew what it was.

Seriously - we need to start a thread on packaging tips, for shipping - I am stunned by what people can stuff into envelopes.  This is like a clown car at a circus!
That made me laugh and gave me visuals! I measured and checked and it all fit into a regular card envelope and I think there was some space in the corners, so I could have squeezed a few more things in. Wink I am in for the next round!
