So I've been looking for a specific shirt for my Watson costume (Sherlock, BBC) and I found the perfect one! Except that it isn't just a simple long-sleeved shirt. It's a woman's shirt and only looks like what I need in the back.

The colors and stripes are perfect! It's a 2XL and I'm a small, so I'll need to do some tailoring anyways, but I was really interested in hearing any ideas people might have to try and fix this shirt up as much as possible? If there's nothing I can do about it and I just need to wear it backwards for our photoshoot, I can live with that, although it'd be cool to be able to wear it around. If only there had been two of these shirts *sigh*
(P.S. already bought a plain darker blue shirt to add the extra bits to the sleeve and bottom of the shirt)

Okay, so I'm trying to make the cape for my Robin costume (Burt Ward version) and can't find a good free pattern online for it. I'm finding patterns for cloaks and hoods, and capes that tie around the head with a drawstring, but none like Robin's. Any advice on how to make this cape??

So, this was the first costume I've ever made. I made it to look somewhat like the Broadway version, not like the Disney version.

Why Peter Pan: Because I LOVE Peter Pan. The character, the book, the movie, the play. Peter Pan is my dream role (I act a lot on stage, and plan on going into theatre when I go to college next semester, etc. etc.).

The making: Well, the shirt actual body of the costume was made pretty easily. (took me forever to find all the different colors of green, though) I had a pattern for just a shirt, but I just simplified it, ignoring the darts and whatnot to make just a simple, long shirt and then added the little "V."
After that, I made a stencil of a leaf and used freezer paper to trace it all very neatly and cut them out onto different colors (I used suede for the leaves so that they wouldn't fray), and then I had to hand-sew all of the onto the shirt. It only took 2-3 days because I was trying to work on it non-stop. I had never hand-sewn before, and my fingers were all torn up afterwards, haha.
